The Palms is a comfortable Victorian House located in a pleasant residential street on the North of Taunton, a few minutes' drive from the charming Quantock Hills, yet only a short walk from Taunton's diverse amenities. The house has been refurbished and redecorated in readiness for the Summer of 2017. The downstairs accommodation comprises of sitting room with 47” tv, and real flame fire. An archway connects to the dining room with dining table for up to eight people. A patio door leads to the rear garden, cosy summerhouse and bbq area. A well equipped kitchen with twin oven, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine leads to a compact double bedroom with adjoining toilet, and a door to the garden. On the first floor a spacious kingsized bedroom with 32" tv and dvd (a single bed can be added if required), and a double bedroom overlooking the garden. There is a family bathroom with bath, separate shower and toilet. Stairs to the loft conversion on the second floor which has a small double and a single bed, en suite toilet and wash hand basin. The loft has some sloping ceilings. The garden has a sunny aspect fringed by palms. The street has unrestricted free parking, demand can be high at times but a space can always be found close by on the street.

A supermarket, and a takeaway are within a few hundred yards.

The Palms is only a few minutes from the M5. Taunton railway station is a very short walk from the Palms.

Somerset has long been a popular destination, due to its diversity of attractions, these include beaches, hills, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, the Somerset levels famous for bird life, unique Glastonbury with the Tor, and Clarke's Village in Street, Wells Cathedral, Dunster Castle, and the ancient port Watchet, to name a few. Taunton is the County town with an wide, well balanced range of amenities. It provides a central location from which to explore the West Country.

The Palms has a sheltered garden with a Mediterranean feel, a great spot to enjoy a get together with perhaps a barbeque.

The Palms

House was clean and the landlady was very helpful. It was nice to arrive and to be met but also to have some extras waiting for us. This ranged from milk in the fridge and a cake to some washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and plenty of loo rolls.

The garden space would have been fab had the weather been kinder.

It suited us well for convenience whilst on a sports tour with children.

The Palms is approximately three miles from Kingston st Mary at the foot of the Quantock Hills. Delightful Hestercombe Gardens can be found nearby. It is also a very short walk from Taunton's many amenities. There is a Co-op a few yards away which is open until 11.00 pm. Two takeaways and a cash point machine are in the same spot. A family pub, adjacent to the railway station, both only a few hundred yards distant. The Plough is a very popular pub, located just beyond the railway station. Station Road has an abundance of ethnic restaurants and take aways. The hop on and off steam railway departing from Bishop's Lydeard is a wonderfully relaxing way to enjoy North Somerset's interesting places including the charming village of Dunster and it's castle and the beach at Blue Anchor. Somerset has long been a holiday destination and has a multitude of days out options.
