When can we come back?! :)

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked a week long stay with Maggie and Mark in their beautiful stone cottage for our honeymoon. It was the best decision we could have made for our newlywed getaway! The moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth, happiness and humor from this husband and wife team. Of course the cottage itself is beautiful (the pictures you see on the internet don’t really begin to do it justice), but it’s really Maggie and Mark who make this place so special. They are incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful, which we really appreciated as first time visitors to Ireland. We used the cottage as our “base camp” to come back to every night after exploring the surrounding areas of Inistioge, Thomastown, and Kilkenny. The kitchen was perfect for us to cook full meals in, which we would then eat by candlelight in front of the wood stove (romantic, eh??). We even had the opportunity to enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast from Maggie and Mark’s chickens!

If you are lucky enough to stay at the cottage, be sure to check out the little village of Inistioge - the pubs and restaurants there are filled with locals who are friendly and talkative. In fact, during our entire time in Ireland, we did not run into anyone we wouldn’t have enjoyed sharing a pint with. Maggie and Mark are certainly top on that list!

Our only complaint about our stay is that it went by WAY too quickly. We hope to do it again very soon!

Wonderful & Cozy

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our brief stay at this property! The owners, Margaret and Mark, are great people, very pleasant to chat with, and both were very helpful and hospitable. The facility is small, but it is very heart warming and cozy. Very quiet location and is just outside of Inistioge. We would highly recommend this property!

What a charming pet friendly cottage

  • 5 of 5

The Coach House cottage was in a great location to have a family reunion. You are out in the country but very close to many amenities. The village of Inostege is beautiful and runs along the river where you can take many walks. The cottage is great if you just want a peaceful getaway yet it is also close to many attractions. Its a great jumping off to a beautiful vacation.

Quiet, peaceful, great location

  • 5 of 5

This vacation home was everything it said it was and better. Close enough to Inistioge, Thomastown and Kilkenny for lunch or dinner, and very convenient to visit multiple great gardens - Woodstock, Johnstown, and JFK, and the cities of Wexford and Waterford. More importantly, the bed was super comfortable!

Great hosts, and it is highly recommended.

Excellent stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying in the Coach House. Margaret and Mark were so friendly and accommodating, and the house was perfect for our needs. We were able to explore so many places that were within driving distance, and still come back and play cards around the kitchen table in the evening. We would definitely stay again if we are ever back in Ireland.

Either side of the village you can take easy walks along the river bank in peaceful countryside. Above the village is the Woodstock demense and House whose gardens have been restored to their former glory, which at one time were considered one of the great gardens of Ireland.

In Thomastown (7Kms) there is the famous Jerpoint Abbey and in Kilkenny (15kms) there is the Castle and Rothe house and a number of churches and Cathedrals.Waterford (44Kms) is only 40mins drive away where there is a museum of local history and buildings of historical interest.

Inistioge is centrally located for easy access to the south coast and sandy beaches and all major towns in the area.
