Les Voltes is a certified, newly renovated, country apartment located on the first floor of a 4-storey house built over an arch dating from at least the 14th century. The arch, which was originally called Les Voltes de Gratapallas, is a protected part of the local heritage. We have spent the last three years renovating the apartment. The idea was to create a space where we ourselves would like to live, that was practical and functional yet retained all its charm and character. The apartment is located in a beautiful square next to the church and a Templer Knights' castle. All guests are also welcome to use our pallissa, which is a little stone building formerly used to store hay, with a garden, a walled patio, and a barbeque located just a 10-15 minute walk from the house.

es Voltes is located in one of the most emblematic squares of a beautiful yet little-known village called Barberà de la Conca, less than a minute's walk from the local shop, the chemist´s, the bank, the baker´s, the butcher´s, the castle, and the church. The village is located on a hilltop with stunning views of the countryside dotted with vineyards and cornfields. Barberà has a village cafè, which is open all year round, and two restaurants:La Marinada and Portal Dinou (which opens from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime all year around, and from Thursday lunchtime to Sunday lunchtime in the summer). The village also has a quiet outdoor swimming pool with plenty of grass and shade that opens from the last week of June to mid September.
Barberà, with its narrow, hilly streets dotted with shady squares and overlooked by a Knights Templar castle dating from the 12th century, is set on a hill with views over vineyards with the Conca de Barberà denomination of origin. The village was under the protection of the Knights Templar until the order was dissolved in 1312, at which point the Temple was granted to the Knights Hospitaller. The village also has an impressive neo-Classical church with some Romanesque features and is home to the oldest wine cooperative (read more) in Catalonia (founded in 1894). The "new" cooperative was designed by the architect Cesar Martinell, disciple of Gaudi, and is one of the many so-called "wine cathedrals" in the area

Why Anne Murray chose Barberà de la Conca
We bought this property because we are in love with the village, the area, and the people. Best decision ever!

Great Location, Well Equipped
This little apartment was in a nice location, set in an authentic Spanish small town. With the local store right across the street and a cafe a short walk down the hill, it was removed from the tourism scene and gave us a chance to see life in a small town of Spain. It was easy access to the national park and the Cistercian Route as well as easy access to Barcelona.
The apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed. It even had children's plates & cups.
We thought it was nicer than the pictures show.
Anne was a gracious hostess, very friendly, but not intrusive.
Clean, characterful accommodation with helpful host.
Great, location, pretty, friendly wine village with easy access to surrounding attractions like La Poblet and Montblanc.
