Osprey 1 - The Cove - an apartment that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

1 Osprey is nestled at the far end of the front row of this very popular & peaceful development close to Brixham harbour. It was designed by the scheme architect for his own use, so features a few unique touches not found in other Cove properties. These including a large walk in shower (no bath tub to climb over) a bigger more specious floor area overall, American style shutters on most windows and naturally one of the best locations in the whole development. Being a ground floor apartment with walk in shower also makes it more accessible for guests with mobility issues.

The Cove comprises 38 apartments sympathetically designed to blend in with the National Trust woodlands to the right. The South West Coastal Path runs behind the development. The Cove is a private gated development with on site open air swimming pool and direct private access to the pebble beach at Fishcombe Cove below. Every property has its own dedicated numbered parking space.

This beautifully furnished and decorated apartment features a large terrace with outside dining furniture for those wonderful alfresco meals spent taking in the sparkling blues and greens of Torbay. The ever changing vista of little sail boats, modern fishing trawlers, passenger ferries to Torquay, majestic gaff rigged heritage vessels, canoes and kayaks will keep you thoroughly enchanted during your stay. Don't forget to watch out for Sammy the harbour seal and the occasional pod of dolphins too. The on site swimming pool will surely be a hit with the children. Brixham harbour with its many shops, cafes restaurants and bars is a 15 minute walk through Battery Gardens. An hourly bus service to Brixham stops just outside the entrance.

The accommodation briefly comprises a large open plan lounge / diner / kitchen with full height and width patio doors, 2 x 2 seater sofas, dining table & 4 chairs and a bright modern kitchen with every luxury including dishwasher, cloths washer / dryer and espresso machine. The fully tiled bathroom has a large step in shower and high quality sanitary wear. The master bedroom features a luxury double bed, built in wardrobe, TV and sliding patio doors with direct access to the terrace and American style shutters. The twin bedroom features 2 comfortable single beds, built in wardrobes, TV and American style shutters on the windows.

Being at the end of the front row, Osprey 1 enjoys even more privacy than most apartments here, as there will be virtually no one walking past to interrupt the tranquilities.

A dedicated onsite parking space is included as is wi-fi, access to the shared onsite swimming pool (May to September), quality bed linen & towels and all utilities.

Short breaks of 3 nights or more are available at most times except summer school holidays. If short break prices are not displayed, please enquire and we will quote you.

A lucky find in Brixham with a beautiful view of Torbay.

We were looking on-line for self-catering accommodation within the Torbay area and, whilst looking, details of the Brixham Holiday Apartments popped up. We were so impressed that we booked straightaway. We chose Osprey 1 as it looked ideal for us, and we weren't disappointed. The interior is very modern and well furnished, with a nautical theme running throughout. On arrival we found complimentary tea/coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits. A nice touch, Thank you. The kitchen was very well equipped, plus extras. There was even tablets for the dishwasher. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was a TV in the lounge, and both bedrooms, to watch but the view out of the patio doors was far superior. When we weren't out exploring we sat and watched the boats and yachts to-ing and fro-ing across Torbay and round the headland to Brixham harbour. Electric gates to the car park and an alarm at the apartment were a bonus. We wished we could have stayed longer.. A beautiful location and highly recommended for a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful views and lovely accommodation

I stayed with my elderly mother for 5 nights. She loves this accommodation as everything is on one level. In particular she likes having the walk in shower. We found everything to be very clean and of a good quality in the apartment.

The view over Torbay is wonderful. It is a great place to just sit and watch life on the water while staying warm inside.

It's all about a beautiful view

We chose to stay at the Cove development first and foremost for the beautiful view over to Torquay. Gorgeous by day and night.

The apartment was bright and fresh and had an extremely comfortable lounge area.

It felt very spacious but as there was only 2 of us it's hard to say how it would feel with 4 guests,but feel it would really suit families with young children and not 4 adults.

It was a lovely 10-15 minute walk through battery park to the harbour.

The apartment has 3 TVs...which remained unused. I think the one in the twin room would be better replaced with a larger wardrobe as the tiny cupboard in there was already full with an ironing board,clothes drier and old microwave

My only 'moan' would be that despite searching every cupboard we couldn't find a vacuum,broom or even a dust pan brush.

Not being able to at least sweep up every day really upset my inner cleaning fairy, especially as there was no entrance mat to wipe muddy shoes.

A lovely 3 night break for hubby's birthday whilst we visited family living in Brixham.

A relaxing week in Devon

We had a most enjoyable weeks stay at The Cove - Osprey 1. the views across Torbay and beyond are stunning. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. In our opinion there are a few minor things that the apartment could do with:

1. A mat inside the front door to wipe feet when returning to the apartment

2. Coat hooks - there was no where (apart from wardrobes to hang coats etc - not ideal for wet coats). There was also no coat hooks within the bedrooms (for hanging dressing gowns).
