Bovallstrand has gone from being a small community based on fishing and stone industry to a quiet leisure paradise.
In the summer you will swim at Badholmarna which lies on the outskirts of society, closest to the open sea or at Skomakarudden, which is 300 meters inland. If you just have to dip yourself, you can do from the jetty on the other side of the street - 30 m away.
Shop, restaurant and pizzeria are at the square where it is about 300 m.
Larger societies are found south along the coast. Hunnebostrand 5 km and Smögen with its famous pier 12 km.
Nordens Ark is also close by and is well worth a visit.
Over the water, right on the right is Gärlesborg with its art school and, on the way there, a collective of art made in stone, KKV. Both interesting visitor destinations.
Above the collective there is a path leading to the giant Finn's great cry in the mountain.
