Simply Wonderful ...

  • 5 of 5

Ian and Anita have created a beautiful holiday home that you can’t wait to return to after long days out. Thoughtful touches such as the welcome breakfast basket, coffee, assorted teas and biscuits upon arrival really made it feel special. Location is perfect and the morning view from the kitchen is amazing. Would return in a heartbeat!

Highly recommended

The house is beautiful on the inside and outside. Couldn't get over how much 'attention to detail' had gone in to it. In the kitchen there was a variety of different types of teas and coffees including filter coffee. There was also a basket with different breakfast cereals and bottles of water. In the fridge there was milk.

With being set back from the main road, it is very peaceful and as the photo shows, the scenery is beautiful.

When we arrived Ian greeted us and showed us where everything was, although to be honest the "Welcome Pack" in the porch way gave so much detail of the house and where to go and even which Restaurants/Take away to visit.

My wife commented "there's definitely a woman's touch in this house".

The mattresses on the beds are very comfortable and I had the best nights sleep I've had for months.

In the garden, rabbits play and we spent quite a while watching their antics.

First time we've used this facility and hopefully it will not be the last.

Many thanks.

Bob, Gretta, David, Ami & Elizabeth.

Stunning area and gorgeous cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Delighted with our stay here. Absolute bargain for the price and loved all the little touches like cereal, biscuits, tea, coffee and mini toiletries etc. Really felt like a home from home and the dog loved it too, plenty of space for him. Ian and Anita are friendly and helpful. There is a gorgeous view from every window. Really felt like we were on holiday and we only live in Gateshead! Kitchen is well equipped, and had everything we needed to cook with. Cottage is clean, well presented, and quiet. Glorious weather made the stay even more special and we enjoyed sitting outside and walking along the river. Only quibble would be the shower can't be wall mounted due to lack of headroom, which meant it was uncomfortable to shower in. I thought to give it 4 stars for this but who am i kidding, I wouldn't hesitate to come back and spend longer here despite this! It's just an amazing place to be and we left feeling refreshed and happy! Can't wait to come back so we can explore more, and we will be telling everyone we know about it!

quiet, very clean, peaceful

We weren't aware that the toilet was downstairs while the beds were upstairs.

This was difficult for my wife, who is disabled.

After we left, the owners said that they could have installed a bed downstairs, so we will happily go back.

Owner's Response: We were sorry to see John leave. It did say in the property description that the bathroom is on the ground floor. If John had raised this at the time we would have addressed this issue. And been more than happy to install a bed downstairs making their stay more comfortable. I am glad to see John will happily return . Thanks Ian and Anita.

Fabulous holiday home!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect in every way - everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The setting is gorgeous, fabulous views all round but all amenities within easy reach. The dogs loved the garden which is completely secure and the addition of a stair gate meant we didn't have to struggle to keep them downstairs! As we are both over 6' tall we were a little concerned that the double bed wouldn't be big enough for us (ours is a super-king size at home) but it was amazingly comfortable. We loved the extras that meant we could immediately have a cup of tea/coffee and the addition of breakfast cereals/fruit juice was great though we didn't need them. Ian and Anita were always available if needed but not intrusive. All in all a great place to stay.
