The Sail Loft is a newly renovated duplex apartment that sleeps up to 6 guests and occupies part of a beautiful Grade II listed warehouse adjacent to the wharf at the head of the Penryn River with enchanting views across the water from every room.

The Sail Loft is full of personality and has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, combining all the necessary modern conveniences with proud references to the building’s heritage. You’ll find the interior to be cosy and subtle, with generous nautical references including many sea-faring ornaments and paintings.

The entrance hall leads to an open-plan lounge – diner with spectacular double-height vaulted ceilings exposing the original beams of this remarkable historic building. Furnished with an armchair and a comfortable corner sofa, this room is a great place to unwind in the evenings while watching a film or catching up on some television – or when you want a little tranquility to get your thoughts in order and savour the experiences of the day.

At the opposite end of this extraordinary space the dining area is complete with rustic table and chairs – and a great view across the water from the windows! If the temperature lowers simply crank up the efficient central heating system.

The kitchen features all the appliances you need for the days when you haven’t been tempted out to sample the many flavours and tastes that Cornwall has to offer. An electric cooker, microwave, and fridge make it easy to whip up tasty meals from fresh local ingredients, while a washing machine and dishwasher keep everything clean and fresh.

There are three bedrooms, all enjoying the views across the wharf and simply decorated to provide a calm quiet space where you can get some much-needed rest after a day of exploring. Bedroom one and bedroom two both have double beds and share the family bathroom, while the top floor hosts a bonus mezzanine area with relaxing chairs, and the third bedroom which features ‘zip and link’ beds that can be made into a six-foot wide super king sized double or twin single beds.

The mezzanine area is a great space to come to when the sitting room is being used to watch a film that is not to your taste, or when you want a little tranquility to get your thoughts in order and savour the experiences of the day.

A reserved off road parking space is available for the exclusive use of guests at The Sail Loft.

The Sail Loft is situated at the head of the Penryn River in Penryn, just a few minutes from Falmouth town centre. It is one of the oldest market towns in Cornwall. Steeped in history, it enjoys a fascinating timeline of architecture, a labyrinth of side roads, woodland to explore, beautiful scenery to take in and a thriving arts community. Plus, there are some wonderful cafe’s, bars and shops to enjoy.

Over in Falmouth you’ll find plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you occupied, as well as the world-famous National Maritime Museum. Further afield you can find stunning gardens including Glendurgan, Trebah, Heligan and Trelissick. The city of Truro, the Cornish capital, is less than 20 minutes ride away on the train, boasting a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and an impressive cathedral.
