Hummingbird, ( Apartment 311 ), is quietly positioned on the second floor with views over the pool and beautiful tropical gardens leading to the glittering Caribbean sea not more than 120 yards away. The apartment includes two spacious air conditioned en suite double bedrooms with a collapsible additional bed if required. The open plan kitchen and lounge lead to a lovely spacious balcony/terrace where you can spend lazy afternoons or enjoy a romantic dinner. There is a modern washing and drying facility and a daily maid attends to the cleaning necessities. The kitchen is equipped with fridge-freezer, oven and microwave etc. In the lounge area there is a 40 inch flat screen TV with subscription to Netflix, providing a host of news and entertainment programmes, a DVD player, cd player and ipod docking station are also available. Wi fi is included throughout the apartment.

The Best Value 2 Bedroom Unit at Glitter Bay!
Our party of 4 adults stayed in Unit 311 during the last 2 weeks of May 2012. The apartment and resort is as advertised by the owner. No surprises.
Everything worked well from the kitchen, the appliances to the flat screen TV, the satellite system, the air conditioners in both bedrooms, the washer and dryer, the showers and tub. We had lots of water pressure and volume for our showers. The deck was our favorite spot, with a great view of the grounds and Ocean glimpses. We prepared about 80% of our meals at the apartment and ate them out on the deck. The Unit is on the 3rd floor of the building with access provided by both stairs and an elevator. We used the elevator to move our luggage from our rented car at the beginning and end of our stay. There is parking right behind the building and were able to park right in front of our unit every day.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. There is also a 24 hour security person at the entrance to the complex, and a security person at the beach.
There are two tennis courts on the grounds with rackets and balls supplied, a large swimming pool (which we never used), and a ping pong table and Foosball table, both under cover. There is a staffed concierge desk where you can pick up your daily beach towel. I am sure they would be happy to make recommendations on activities or restaurants and make reservations etc. but we never needed or used any of these services.
This is manned from 10 AM to 6 PM daily. They have a TV which is tuned to the latest soccer or cricket match. We only ate there once and the lunch was good. They keep the BBQ there and we reserved it 4 times to make supper. No Charge to do so. They allow you to run a tab at the bar and settle up with you on your last day.
The beach is great with a large number of umbrellas and padded loungers to use. There is a "Pool Boy" - Rockie, who has been there for 11 years, who looks after the guests, getting them drinks etc. Very attentive. The sand is very soft and once you get past some small crushed coral pebbles just after you enter, the sand in the Ocean is very soft and the water was very clear. They have a ring of buoys set out to define the swimming area as well as a large plastic raft out about 30 meters from the shore.
We had an awesome time, very relaxing and the best value 2 bedroom unit at Glitter Bay.
Glitter Bay is a beautiful resort located on the West Coast of Barbados, famous for its stunning beaches and fantastic restaurants. The 2 acre estate offers guests 2 swimming pools, a bar offering snacks and cocktails, a private beach area with water sports, beach chairs, parasols and towels, there is also a children’s play area, concierge, air-conditioned fitness room, 2 floodlit tennis courts, on site management and 24 hour security. Glitter Bay is located just 0.5 miles from Hole town and is surrounded by lots of local amenities meaning you are close by to a number of restaurants (the Royal Pavilion hotel restaurant is just next door), bars, shops, supermarkets, banks and there is also a nearby bus stop and taxi rank meaning you have easy access to the rest of the island should you wish to venture further afield. For golf fanatics the world class Royal Westmorland Golf Course is just 5 min up the road and the Sandy Lane Golf Course is no more than 10 min away. Other Activities: Polo, cricket

. We require a 20% deposit to confirm the reservation if booked more than 12 weeks in advance. By 12 weeks prior to arrival we require a minimum payment of 50% of the total rental fee. By 8 weeks prior to arrival we require 100% of the total rental fee. We can accept payment by bank transfer or by credit Cards via Pay pal (please note that Paypal charge a 5% card processing fee).
