About Liz Mayatt
Liz and Gary bought Holly Cottage in 2000 after holidaying in Hutton-le-Hole when Liz was a child and wanting to bring her own children to the village that she loved.
Liz Mayatt purchased this Cottage in 2000
Why Liz Mayatt chose Scarborough District
We bought Holly Cottage in January 2000. This was our project for the new millennium! There was a lot of work to be done so we got to work renovating it and managed to complete all the work in 7 months. We then started letting it and have done since July 2000. We holiday ourselves in Holly Cottage as often as possible and still love spending as much time there as possible.
What makes this Cottage unique
Beautiful location overlooking the village and hills. Holly Cottage is even featured on postcards sold in the village. Very spacious and warm - perfect for coming home to after a day exploring.

Great cottage. Lovelly location. Enjoyed staying here.
Lovely property, great village
Well positioned property ideal for a party of 6-8 adults.
The house is very clean and well equipped. The cupboards in the kitchen are bulging with crockery and the pantry is full of everything you require including cleaning products and dishwasher tablets. The living room is very spacious and seated 4 couples comfortably. The log burner was lovely to come back to after a cold walk to Lastingham. Beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms very clean. Our only issue was that the write up did not state to bring your own towels, which we didn't do. We will return.
Lovely house in a lovely setting.
Rented the house for a weekend get together , the house was ideal we especially liked the cosy living room large dining table and the log burner. The house had everything we needed and with the option of a the pub two minutes walk away we wanted for nothing.
We will be back.
Excellent as usual
Lovely cosy cottage
The xmas tree was a nice touch
Front door needs some immediate attention but couple next door were extremely helpful and got us in thankfully but wouldn’t feel safe if they hadn’t been around to help
