This spacious 18th Century detached cottage is set in one of the most popular villages in the North York Moors National park. This stone built cottage offers spacious accommodation and is a lovely family home with all home comforts. There is an enclosed garden and drive. On the ground floor there is a spacious sitting room with real wood burning stove, separate dining room, kitchen, cloakroom and hall. The first floor has a double bedroom with a four poster bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. Two twin bedrooms and a spacious brand new family bathroom with large bath and separate shower. The second floor has a very large double bedroom with superb views across the village.

Hutton-le hole is situated in one of the most picturesque villages in the North York Moors National Park. This beautiful village has various gift shops, a chocolate shop, candle shop, tea rooms a newly refurbished pub which serves great food and all within a few minutes walk from the cottage. There is also an award winning museum in the heart of the village which is well worth a visit. Many visitors spend summer days with a picnic by the stream.

Liz and Gary bought Holly Cottage in 2000 after holidaying in Hutton-le-Hole when Liz was a child and wanting to bring her own children to the village that she loved.

Why Liz Mayatt chose Yorkshire Moors and Coast

We bought Holly Cottage in January 2000. This was our project for the new millennium! There was a lot of work to be done so we got to work renovating it and managed to complete all the work in 7 months. We then started letting it and have done since July 2000. We holiday ourselves in Holly Cottage as often as possible and still love spending as much time there as possible.

What makes this cottage unique

Beautiful location overlooking the village and hills. Holly Cottage is even featured on postcards sold in the village. Very spacious and warm - perfect for coming home to after a day exploring.

Just a quick one to say thank you for allowing us to stay at your lovely cottage, it’s a fantastic holiday home. Unlike a lot of holiday homes we’ve stayed in, it was very well equipped with kitchen utensils etc and it really felt like home.



Hopefully we will return another time to maybe enjoy it during a different season.

Stunning cottage in lovely picturesque village!!!

We had a long weekend at Holly Cottage & what a find it was. The photographs on line just don't do it justice. There was ample room for 2 families - 4 adults, 4 children & a dog!!! The open fire was lovely to gather round after a cold & wet sleet snow walk (typical February English weather!!!).

The village was great to venture off from with streams & water everywhere for the kids to play in.

The bedrooms were of a good size & we had plenty of room so we never felt crammed in.

We can't wait to return to the cottage. Thank you to Liz for her quick responses prior to our booking & during our stay.

Christmas in Hutton-le-Hole

We were 8 adults plus a new born baby and spent Christmas week in Hutton-le-hole. We had a great time. The cottage was up to expectation and accommodated our family Christmas traditions; there was a log burner and an unsolicited Christmas tree and other decorations. We made good use the Crown (food and drink excellent) and had a number of wind swept walks on the moors

Just what we needed

The cottage was lovely clean and tidy with a homely feel. Plenty of room for our extended family and two dogs. Although we never met the owner, we always got a prompt and helpful response to any questions. Great location in a beautiful village, two minutes walk from the pub (superb food), two cafes, a chocolate factory and the Ryedale Folk Museum. with so much to do in the area. Would love to return and have already been recommending the cottage to our friends.

Great property superb location

We loved the character of this well-equipped property. Everything you could want to make for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Good parking for our 2 cars and secure garden for the dogs. The local pub was a welcome extra for an easy evening drink without driving and recommend a visit to the Ryedale Folk Museum. There are a lot of sheep wandering around in the village and you do have to search around if you need somewhere to walk dogs off the lead but not a big problem. The garden was superb and as we had such lovely weather we were able to make the most of the sunny aspect during the day on the patio area. The caretaker was very welcoming and lived just next door so is on hand to deal with any issues. Would definitely recommend this property if you like a cottage with character, in a village setting with a local pub close by.
