About the property

Designed with families in mind, the house is also great for small groups. Many guest considerations have been taken into account when setting up this property - comfy beds, beautiful bed linen, essentials (shampoo, shower gel, tea, coffee), fast WiFi, and large TV with Netflix.

The property has been renovated and furnished to a very high standard by the owners, providing a superb holiday home comprising the following: Open plan Lounge, Dining and Kitchen, small utility room on the ground floor, three bedrooms (an en-suite) and a bathroom on the upper floors.

The cosy lounge has a large leather 3 seat sofa and two arm chairs around an electric feature wood burning stove. A large TV is positioned above the stove on the chimney breast which is connected to an Apple TV box that has a Netflix account, for those that wish to chill out in an evening.

The dining area has a large table and six chairs and plenty of room. The fully equipped luxury kitchen with marble worktops includes an Aga electric oven/grill and gas hob. An American style large fridge freezer with filtered water and ice, micro-wave, toaster and dishwasher.

Off the kitchen there is a small utility room that has a washer dryer, utility sink and a useful downstairs toilet. Parking is on street at the front of the property with a permit.

The rear yard is a beautiful place to sit on a warm evening. A perfect spot for a morning coffee alfresco or an evening glass of wine.

The main bedroom has a king size iron bed, with plenty of wardrobes and an en-suite shower room with basin and wc. The rear bedroom has a comfy double bed, single wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Loft / third bedroom has two single beds, (please note that upon request these can be made up to form a king size bed – although guests should be aware that this room does have head height restrictions being within the roof space. There is a travel cot available for use.

The main bathroom consists of a large bath with overhead shower, wc, bidet and basin.

Beautifully renovated, personal service

This townhouse has been beautifully renovated and was very tidy and welcoming. The owner met us when we arrived to give us keys and advice, which was much appreciated. All the top attractions of York are a short walk over one of three bridges across the river. We stayed in the winter when it was -2C outside, but it was lovely and warm inside. Highly recommended.

Lovely property within easy walking distance of downtown york

Owner peter was easy to contact, met us at house for a familiarization tour and made sure we were comfortable. The rental included parking permits for the street, and most times we are able to park nearly in front of the unit. The house enters at ground level with minimal step up. The great room is well shown in the photos, but as we visited in December, the important item was how warm and cozy the house is! The electric fireplace has a blower that immediately adds warm air to the space. Peter supplied us with tea coffee milk juice wine butter bread and lots of pots pans and accessories. The washer-dryer was confusing to me, but eventually, with the help of the manual peter had provided, figured out a method that required minimal dry rack time. There is a half bath on the street level, A family bath with tub at the top of the steps in the second level, plus the master bedroom has a shower bath ensuite. The master bedroom has a large queen bed, not an American kingsize, but the room is large and lovely. Beds comfortable, fresh linens and a choice of pillows. The second bedroom is tiny with a full size bed and space only to walk around the bed. The third bedroom is on the third floor and has two twin beds, also very comfortable. In planning your visit, be aware the 3rd floor bedroom is above the master, and the stairs/floor are quite squeaky. One thing to plan for on winter visits: the family bath was very cold- but we borrowed an electric heater which quickly warmed the space when we needed it. We loved the location of this home, the easy parking, the neatness and modern aspects, the cleanliness, the cozy warm shelter from the damp cold outside, the light, airiness of each room, and the accessibility of the owner. We would definitely book again. Thanks peter.
