About the property

A detached bungalow in very private landscaped gardens, this holiday home offers families or groups of friends a chance to enjoy The Gambia and experience the comforts of your own home. The house is a five minute drive from the Senegambia hotel area. The local beach is Bijilo beach, a pleasant fifteen minute walk away. This beach is beautiful and quiet and has several beach bars dotted along it. You can walk right along the beach passing all the hotels and stopping off for some drinks or food along the way.

The house is surrounded by patio areas and garden. Electricity is payed by metre by guests. At the front of the house there is a veranda, a lovely place to enjoy the evening sunset. At one side of the house there is ample car parking space and a banana garden (help yourself!) At the back of the house you will find a beautiful 8 x 4 metre swimming pool surrounded by sun terrace, BBQ and outdoor dining and living area. The back garden has many colourful tropical plants, aromatic bougainvillea and hibiscus attracting many of Gambia’s fabulous birds (just feed them some bread every morning). It’s the perfect place to relax, read, swim and entertain

Three large double bedrooms (sleeps up to seven people), one with king sized bed, one with double bed and single and one with twin beds. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room and toilet. There is one further house bathroom with shower and toilet. The living, dining and kitchen areas are light and airy and furnished with African pictures and tapestries. This area is open plan and has well screened windows and tiled flooring throughout, keeping the house very cool. The house has satellite TV and a 50 inch plasma TV and DVD. There are DVDs and books for you to enjoy. The Kitchen has plenty of tile topped mahogany cupboards, gas cooker and a good sized fridge and freezer. The kitchen is well stocked with kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. Both rooms including living and dinning room are fitted with ceiling fans.

Brusubi has become a thriving small town. On our street alone you will find a bar and restaurant, bakery (fresh warm bread every morning and evening) and small corner shop. On the Brusubi Highway there are large supermarkets, banks, restaurants, bakeries (croissants and pastries) butchers and market area selling fruits and vegetables. We find we hardly ever need to leave Brusubi but when we do there is a main taxi area at the roundabout as well as plenty of minibuses travelling up and down the highway. Brusubi also has one of the best electricity supplies in The Gambia but in the event of a power cut the house has a stand by generator. The Brusubi water supply is excellent and totally safe to drink. Our housing manager Bakary is always available to look after you, arrange for laundry, cooking and he can also organise car hire and act as your driver if you wish. Bakary will clean the house and change the sheets every week of your stay.
