Super cute neighborhood with great access
Super great location, really nice and clean place. Scott the owner was really responsive and helpful. We walked everywhere very easily. We didn't think the mattress in the downstairs room was very comfortable, but other than that it was a really great place to stay. I would totally stay there again.
Girls Fun Week
A pretty house in a very quiet neighborhood with grocery stores, lots of restaurants nearby. Easy access to public transportation...perfect place to stay.
We loved staying at Scott’s property! It was clean, comfortable, and spacious for our group of 5. We were in a great location in walking distance to many restaurants and to Granville Island. Parking was not an issue at all. Scott was also attentive and helpful with any questions we had. Would highly recommend!
Pass on this property
There is no air conditioning in this property (as noted) but most of the windows don't have any screens on them. It was very hot in the property, espically in the two bedrooms upstairs. This resulted in various bugs, including two large black spiders into the bedrooms....not fun!
Upon checking in the manager of the property insisted on coming into the property because he "forgot his daytimer"....oddly enough he checked for it in the silverware drawer so I think he was inconspicuous trying to see who was staying inside the property.
In addition, the shower leaks all over the bathroom floor, the mattresses are as hard as box springs, the pillows completely flat.
Most importantly, this is a house converted into two units. My biggest concern that there is only one emergency exit (the front stairwell) to the building. There is access to a patio off the kitchen but no way down from two stories up. I'm not entirely sure this is up to building standard codes or Egress.
The location was great but I would not recommend this vrbo without the above noted improvements.
We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. The house is a 1912 structure and as stated in our property description, does not have any AC. Instead, we provide fans for the rooms. Due to the age of the home, all the windows are unusual sizes. To create screens for them would be a massive undertaking but given your concerns we will put this on our to-do list.
I am often working at the suite the day that guests arrive, which allows me to say hello to them and to answer any of their questions. I was working at the suite the day you arrived and thought I had left my day timer in in the suite. I'm sorry you had the impression that I was checking up on you - that was not the case.
Lovely Vancouver condo
Convenient to everything
1. Umbrellas for rainy days
2. Hotter hot water. I enjoy really hot showers.
Great rental in a great location!
We had a great time staying here for a long, three-day weekend. We drove up from Seattle with a Family of 6- myself, my wife, two grandparents, and two kids- ages 3 and 7. The house was plenty big for all of us, with a great eat-in kitchen and comfortable living room. A couple of notes that were not totally clear from the listing description: 1) this is the up-stairs unit of a divided property. On the day of check-out, we met the Australian couple who had been staying in the lower unit, who also had great things to say about that unit though we did not see it. There is essentially no yard, but this was not an issue for us as we had a full itinerary and didn't spend days just hanging out at the house. 2) Because this is an upstairs unit, there are a lot of stairs- the Queen bed bedroom is on the second floor, as is the nice bathroom (not pictured), and the other two rooms cleverly are tucked away on the third floor (these are American-floor designations, btw- adjust accordingly if you are more Euro-centric!), which may be an issue if you/your party is eldery or has difficulty on the stairs. The up-shot of this is that the property is quiet and above what little street noise there is on this quiet residential street. 3) The bedrooms all are good sized- from the photos it looked like the upstairs full-mattress rooms would be tiny, but that is just the camera lens that makes it look that way. For example, should you need to, you could easily set up a pack-and-play crib in any of the bedrooms and still have room to move about (also, a pack-and-play crib, high chairs, and a simple stroller were available for use on the porch if you forgot yours, they are shared between the units it appears).4) The beds are all very comfortable and more then enough for a couple used to sleeping on queen sized beds at home. Having lived in old, multi story homes before, I'm guessing the reason for having full sized mattresses in the upstairs bedrooms rather than queen sized one's is the physical limitations of angling a big mattress up and around the corners of the stairs. 5) The location of the property is great! yes, parking is not as easy as it could be (i.e. the house doesn't have off street parking, but then again none of the original houses on this street do, so this is not a slight against the house!), but parking was not terrible by any means. There is a big church two blocks away that had plenty of on-street, 2-hr parking!
