Idyllic! Amazing! Will definitely be going again.

If I had to describe it 2 words: vintage & quaint. From the decor to the general ambience. The little decorative touches in the rooms, such as the old fashioned hair brushes and combs were adorable.

And these people have good taste: entire catalogue of Seinfeld to watch!

We were 3 generations staying there that weekend and from my parents in their 70s, to my 9 year old son, everyone had a great and memorable time.

The private beach especially was amazing. You walk through relatively dense woods and then suddenly there's the lake in front of you. The view is breathtaking, esp at dusk.

I would just advise of being aware that there is no mobile phone signal (except vodafone according to owners) in the cottage. By the lake, if you stay really still, you may get some. So have a plan for emergencies. I have O2 and had to drive for 5 mins towards Bowness before my phone picked up a signal. However, the lack of connectivity may be welcome for some..!

I am recommending this cottage to everyone who asks. Fabulous.

Owner's Response: Imtiaz We are so pleased you enjoyed the cottage. To cater for emergency phone calls we have now left a vodafone mobile with a Pay as you go sim in the cottage for future guests. I hope you managed to also watch the curb your enthusiasm DVDs! Best regards Mark & Ruth

Idyllic Cottage

  • 5 of 5

A truly idyllic cottage surrounded by glorious woodland and stream.

The antiques in the property added real charm for those looking to escape the hectic city life.

A real highlight was watching the sunset down at the private beach, upon returning to a roaring fire back at the cottage.

Would 100% recommend.

Lake District October Half Term Holiday

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect for our family of five. Cosy and warm, with a lovely wood burning stove. Despite a rainy first half of the week this didn't dampen our spirits and we had such a great time visiting Beatrix Potters house and John Ruskins House. Out walking during the day and back home to lots of hot water and a good selection of board games. No WIFI which was actually a huge treat. Windemere and Bowness very near by car too so a great spot. Thank you for such a wonderful time. We will come again if you'll have us.
