Franklin House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 2-13)

'A Little Bit of Heaven' is a beautiful secluded vacation home nestled in the Smoky Mountains close to gem mining, The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, wonderful waterfalls, and antiquing.

This home has a view from the deck that will take your breath away in the day and leave you awe struck at night. The distant lights of the town of Franklin can be enjoyed every evening from the deck. This property has wonderful country roads to enjoy a hike after dinner yet is close and easy to get to.

We built this home with vacation in mind. Lots of room for the whole gang. Enough parking for everyone. Although there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, you can spend your whole vacation and never leave the mountain.

There is entertainment for the whole family. Pool table and ping pong. Dinner on the deck is one of our favorite activities. Come find out what the Great Smokey Mountains are famous for!

About The Owner

A not quite retired couple who truly believe that the mountains of Western North Carolina is God's country

Why The Owner chose North Carolina Mountains

In the late 70's we helped our parents build their first NC Mountain home in Robinsville. After my father-in-law passed away we encouraged Mom to sell the Robinsiville home. It only took us a few years to realize how much we missed the beautiful NC Mountains. We decided that we were always taking day trips from remote Robinsville to Franklin where it seemed everything was happening. It only made sense to build the next house in the beautiful quaint town of Franklin. We took the plans from the original house and expanded it and made it a true NC home. We designed it to accommodate our own family reunions. There is plenty of space for the whole gang and lots to do right at the house or in the surrounding area. Our view will knock your socks off and secluded enough that you feel like you are the only ones on the mountain. We never intended to rent our home so this home is a little nicer than most, with Corian counter tops and upgraded appliances. We decided to share it with others as it was a shame to not have it used until we can be up there full time.

What makes this house unique

Our favorite activities at our 'Little Bit of Heaven' is: Eating meals out on the deck and watching the sun set. Taking walks after dinner on the quiet road in front of the house.

I love challenging what ever guests or family to a game of pool in the evening. I must say my personal favorite is to wait until everyone has gone to bed and sit out on the deck and watch the lights of the town of Franklin. It is so quiet and the solitude is indescribable!!

We also like going to 'Picking on the Square' on Saturday nights in Franklin. We love going white water rafting on the Nantahala. Our goal is to learn to Fly Fish in the local streams. We also like finding new places to hike and my personal favorite is to photograph all the cool waterfalls in the area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Mike and Nancy,

Thank you very much for opening your Smokey Mountain home to our family. It truly is a little bit of Heaven! We loved it.... the view, the location, rooms & their décor, and the gameroom, as well.

We had a blast too! Thank you for all of your advice and suggestions. We found about 60 carats in sapphires and rubies! The Boiler Room and Fun Factory also huge hits with the kids!

We really hope to return someday!

Thank you again,

Cherilyn

P.S. We loved the hummingbirds!!

Perfect in Every Way!

  • 5 of 5

This property is beautiful, clean, spacious and has a gorgeous view from the deck! So peaceful and private. You could not ask for anything more......and I am picky. Owner Nancy is easy to work with and makes it all super nice. We had 9 in our group (girls getaway), but house could have supported more with NO overcrowding. Thank you Nancy for a more than perfect vacation. PS.....it will be absolutely fantastic this fall as the leaves change. Jody

Breathtaking views in a private setting.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in your home. We can't talk enough about how beautiful the views were. And we loved the layout of your place. The deck was our favorite place and we loved the covered outdoor sitting area on the side when it was raining. Great location for easy access to explore nearby towns. We loved it and can't wait to come back!

The home was very inviting. It had everything we needed for the week. I spent the early mornings on the side porch enjoying the sounds of the woods while reading and drinking my morning cup of joe!

Breathtaking view!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a fun time here. The kids had a blast playing pool and running up and down the stairs. One of the kids even said they wanted to live there. The sound system that goes throughout the house was an added bonus too. But really, it's the view that you could never get enough of. Very comfortable, beautiful and clean home that fit my whole family. Can't wait to go back!

Very peaceful

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful view, beautiful house. Mornings were wonderful watching the fog move in and out of the mountains. Evenings and nights on the deck were so peaceful. The house is extremely clean and has many enhancements but we didn't spend much time indoors because the deck was so pleasant ,day and night. The location is outstanding, gated, secluded community and close to many waterfalls, towns and other sites.

Perfect relaxing vacation

  • 5 of 5

Initially I thought I might have made a mistake when I saw the driveway but luckily I had experienced mountain drivers with me who knew how to navigate the mountains and the steep driveways. Once in the house, everyone oohed and aahed over the space, the amenities and the view. This is saying quite a lot when you consider the folks to impress were high school seniors travelling for their graduation trip. We were amazed at how well stocked the house was. We walked in and were immediately able to prepare our lasagna dinners. The house is perfectly situated for day trips to whitewater rafting, antiquing, dinners in town and many other activities. I want to thank the owners for helping to make an unforgettable trip for myself and my family.
