The apartment features a wealth of warm amber tones in the rustic sitting room, exposed beams lining the ceiling and wood framing around the chalet-style windows. A red wire moose hangs bright against the crisp white walls, and there are other artful objects too: a carved duck, a spot-lit and gilt-framed oil painting. But your most admiring glance might be saved for Paris' glassy peak, the Louvre, which you can reach on foot in just five minutes.
The quaint kitchen's icy mint tiles are complemented by grained wooden cabinets, and there's more of the alpine in the sitting room, where even the piano bears knots and whorls. There are playful details too, like the tapestry rugs topping the honeycomb floor tiles and the pretty hues of the plentiful tomes. But the most daring is perhaps the artwork of pebbles and streams, its shades spelling out a secret message. The balcony offers enviable views of the great outdoors, but be sure to experience it first-hand – a ten-minute walk over the Seine brings you to cultured Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to offer you a complimentary private car service from any Parisian airport or train station for your arrival. Your English speaking driver will wait for your party outside the Customs doors/at the end of the relevant train platform, bearing a sign reading your name. He will then call us upon your departure from the airport/train station so that your greeter can time the meet up at the apartment. Your greeter will then meet you at the apartment directly, show you the apartment, collect final payment, and give you the keys. If you are arriving by car, please be sure to call your greeter one hour before reaching the apartment.
Paris's 1st arrondissement is chock-a-block with things to do and see – and you could easily be just as content strolling in your wonderful little quarter of the city. Here are links to a few of the places we've mentioned, but you'll discover dozens of others within a stone's throw from this lovely apartment.
The Paris Opéra is a tour de force of exterior building lighting – take a stroll just to see the building, or take in a world-class operatic or ballet offering. The Louvre is so nearby that you can pick and choose your timing. We've noticed that Sunday afternoons tend to be a little quieter there. And even closer, the Tuileries Gardens, for a romantic crepuscular stroll....
You may want to keep going in that direction, and take a cocktail cruise on the Seine as well. Don't miss the market right in your own Place du Marché-Saint-Honoré, on Wednesdays and Saturdays!
