Space 3,400 sq. ft.
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 3 - 6 nights

About the property

3 bedroom/3 bathroom - great location for golf or beach

Mahogany Villa is situated at the prime location of Mount Irvine in 2.5 acres of landscaped tropical gardens, shared with just four other villas.

With lovely views across the award winning golf course and through palm trees to the Caribbean Sea, guests at Mahogany will enjoy the peaceful, secluded and safe environment (security gated with remote controlled access and with a resident site manager) .

Designed for open air living with a huge, shady verandah area of 80 sq metres and an upper level terrace, which comes into its own at sunset, Mahogany nestles in a beautifully maintained, yet natural, garden. The villa has a large, private plunge pool (4 x 3 metres) and shares an inviting 60 foot (20m) swimming pool, which is situated just 15 metres from villa's private garden.

The beautiful samaan trees combined with other exotic flora, attract a wide variety of beautiful birds, including hummingbirds, tanagers and mot-mots.

The living room has a soft seating zone with flat screen TV and complimentary WiFi.

There is comfortably enough dining space inside and out for 10 people with various combinations of tables/seating to choose from.

Mahogany has a fully equipped kitchen that will suit guests who may just want or a simple breakfast or others who plan to prepare substantial meals.

All three bedrooms are generously proportioned and each has its own ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and plenty of storage space. There is an additional WC situated on the ground floor.

The adjoining utility/laundry room has all the equipment necessary to cater for anyone planning to stay for 2 weeks or more.

Two of the island's beautiful, Caribbean coast beaches (Grange and Mount Irvine - please see photos) can be reached in 5 minutes by car or via a 10-15 minute stroll across the golf course, which can be accessed via the garden gate.

Keen golfers will enjoy being able to play two championship courses (both over 6,500 yards - par 72), both within easy reach of the villa. Packages are available on request and there are 3 sets of clubs at the villa (2 x men's and 1 x women's) - guests should contact the owners in advance if they wish to borrow clubs.

Although local beaches, restaurants and shops are within walking distance, a car is recommended.

The villa is an ideal location for families or groups of friends to enjoy Tobago.

About Reg and Su Roberts

My wife and I were fortunate to grow up on the beautiful Gower coast, where the views are always stunning, but the weather unpredictable to say the least. We'd become huge fans of the Indian Ocean islands (Seychelles, Maldives, Sri Lanka) before a friend recommended Tobago. We immediately fell in love with the beautiful, natural scenery, the genuinely welcoming people and the fact that this was an island that just didn't have to try too hard to be wonderful in its own right.

Reg and Su Roberts purchased this villa in 2017

Why Reg and Su Roberts chose Black Rock

After numerous wonderful holidays on Tobago, we'd given serious consideration to purchasing a base on the island. Having seen several villas during an appearance on the television show, "A Place In The Sun: Winter Sun", we also managed to find time to view other properties and Mahogany was the one that definitely ticked all boxes for us. We'd seen some lovely places, but were captivated by the ambiance of Villas On The Green.

What makes this villa unique

The Atlantic side has rugged beauty, but we definitely prefer the glorious beaches and calmer seas of Caribbean coast and the location combines the best of a natural setting with convenient access to shops and restaurants with beaches and the golf course right on the doorstep. Our initial reservation (the shared pool) has now become our biggest plus-point. When you have it to yourself (which is the case most of the time) it beats the far smaller private pools for exercise purposes, but on the occasions you do share it with other residents/guests it's great central zone to chat and share experiences.

A slice of heaven right here in Tobago

  • 5 of 5

Even before our arrival right up until we left, the staff were all very accommodating and helpful. The property along with the house was regularly cleaned, making our stay even more enjoyable! We absolutely loved spending time in the house, the spacious kitchen made cooking a breeze and the back patio and private Jacuzzi was perfect for late night relaxing. As a group of young women, we felt safe and comfortable at all times! We will definitely be back soon! Thank you :)

Excellent villa for a relaxing holiday

Mahogany Villa undoubtedly offers wonderful holiday accommodation for parties of up to six or eight adults. The house is spacious, well-furnished and very, very comfortable. What more can one ask for?

Tobago never disappoints and neither did the Mahogany Villa. It was exactly as advertised, although it far exceeded expectations. It is located about 15 minutes from the airport, is close to several grocery stores, fruit stands, restaurants, bank machines and a 10 minute walk across the golf course to the closest beach. A rental car is recommended.

It is a quiet gated property of 5 villas, with beautifully maintained grounds and a shared pool large enough to swim laps. The villa also has a small plunge pool by the verandah.

The villa itself is very well equipped, with an open style main floor with a large well stocked kitchen. There is a beautiful large master bedroom on the main floor with 2 well appointed bedrooms upstairs, all with ensuite bathrooms. Two sets of large glass double doors open from the inside to a wonderful covered verandah that looks out onto the golf course. It was nicely furnished with a dining table, comfortable loungers, chairs and my favorite, a hammock. We ate all our meals and downed a few rum punches out there, while enjoying the sunset over the golf course.

There were 2 sets of golf clubs made available to us, which we made good use of and enjoyed many hours on the neighbouring golf course.

Mt Irvine beach and Grafton Beach are both closeby. There are so many wonderful places to visit on the island, and many activities available for all ages and interests.

Liz, the property manager, was extremely attentive, and was available to make our stay as perfect as possible, only a phone call away. Germaine, the housekeeper, did a wonderful job looking after the house. Wayne, security and groundskeeper, was on the property every night and part of each day. The staff were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed.

If you are looking for a low key get-away, this is it. We were there for a month, time went too quickly and it was very difficult to leave…… a great holiday!!!

A fantastic base from which to explore the island.

  • 5 of 5

We’re a family of 5 from the UK and we spent a couple of weeks at Mahogany Villa in November/December 2017.

Primarily we sought a relaxing holiday in the sunshine with enough activities to satisfy our spirits of adventure. We were not disappointed.

Mahogany Villa is comfortable, spacious and airy with a huge veranda, a private jacuzzi and a 20m pool which we luckily had completely to ourselves. It was a great base for a peaceful holiday in a tropical location.

Located just outside the busy Pigeon Point area to the south and within easy reach of the of the capital to the west, it was a convenient place from which to embark on our daily trips. A car was a necessity but the shops, beaches, bars and restaurants are only a short drive away. We especially liked the beaches around Mt Irvine Bay. They were absolutely beautiful especially early in the morning or in the evening as the sun sets.

There was a lot to do: walking, swimming, snorkelling, diving (Speyside was best), surfing and driving all the way around the island.

We’d thoroughly recommend:

1) The Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve (Arnos Vale) where the hummingbirds were flying all around and right next to you – take a slow motion video!

2) A dive trip from Speyside with a stop on Goat Island and lunch at Jemma’s Treehouse.

3) A dive trip using Black Rock Divers in Mt Irvine Bay. Marcus, the owner/dive leader, was a mine of information and extremely helpful.

4) A visit to “Sunday School” at Buccoo – nothing religious. It’s a weekly street party with lots of local food and an amazing steel band – a fantastic atmosphere.

5) A visit to Fort King George in Scarborough. A fascinating museum with great views.

6) Visits to Waves in Grafton Bay – great views and lunches.

7) Just simply driving around the island and visiting the many glorious bays with their panoramic views.

We didn’t have time for a tour of the ancient rainforest nor the waterfalls. There’s a lot more to see and do but, hey, we’ll do them next time!

The Symberlist family,

Amazing Villa in Tobago

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Tobago...we stayed with tree teenagers and there was plenty of room for all of us. The veranda was great and my boys especially enjoyed the hammock!

The pool was lovely ...a very quiet complex with just a few villas in very pretty surroundings....the neighbours even gave us dinner one evening!

The local beach was amazing ....walkable across the golf course.

Amazing stay at Mahogany Villa

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived we were greeted by Liz, she showed us round the villa- very friendly and was always a phone call away, if ever we needed anything. The villa itself was stunning, very spacious downstairs area with a great ensuite bedroom, the outside area with the hammock and private jauccuzi was amazing- so relaxing! The resort was very peaceful during our stay. Wayne, security guard, was very friendly and gave us great tips.

Over all- it was one of the best holidays we've ever had, we have fallen in love with the island and the villa. Cant praise it enough!!

Tobago is a world-renowned centre for divers, but there is wonderful snorkelling available straight off many beaches. For the more adventurous, boat trips to reefs/coral gardens are available at reasonable cost. Tobago is a dream destination for ornithologists with a wide variety of beautiful birds, many more common to South America than any other Caribbean islands. The Main Ridge Forest Reserve has been voted the "World's Leading Eco-Tourism destination" by the World Travel Awards on several occasions and a guided visit there is highly recommended. Beautiful flora, birds, reptiles, fascinating insects and stunning waterfalls abound. Golfers are unusually well-catered for on an island of this size, with two championship courses within minutes of the villa. Both are par 72 and over 6,500 yards off back tees. Mount Irvine is a traditionally designed, almost links-like course that meanders through palm trees. Past winners of Tournaments there include Tony Jacklin, Ronan Rafferty and Stephen Ames. The newer, Tobago Plantations, course has been designed more along US resort course lines, with water hazards on 11 holes. It has hosted Seniors tour competitions. Golf packages are available on request.
