This two bedroom “cottage style” apartment with traditional Roman pantiled roof on the third and top floor; with spacious, comfortable open plan living, dining and kitchen area; large terrace with dining furniture - perfect for eating al fresco on those warm balmy evenings, comes highly recommended for friends and families to enjoy a relaxing holiday as it is situated in a secluded spot on a hillside, yet is only a few minutes walk from the traditional village of Le Plan de la Tour and its restaurants, shops, weekly market and vignobles.

This spacious excellent-quality 'cottage style' apartment is in a private mixed residential domaine in Le Plan de la Tour, made up of villas and low rise 'cottage style' apartments, sharing the facilities of a large swimming pool, children’s paddling pool, boules pitch and a tennis court. The effect of the 'cottage style' is due to the incline of the land whereby the main access is to the rear by a short stairway (and so the feeling is very much of entering a small cottage), yet from the spacious furnished terrace to the front there are superb views across the village roofs of Le Plan de la Tour and the valley to the Maures hills in the distance beyond.

The historic centre of Le Plan de la Tour is a short stroll away from the apartment where there are boulangeries, bar/cafes, other everyday local shops, public tennis courts and multiple restaurants or it is only 10-15 minutes drive to the famous French holiday resort of Sainte Maxime with a vast choice of restaurants and several supermarkets and beautiful sandy beaches. A little further along the coast is the equally famous St Tropez which can be reached in 35 minutes or so by car or by taking the ferry shuttle (Les Bateaux Verts) over from Ste Maxime - it is well worth the experience, especially in peak holiday season on market days !

There is lots to do with a Tourist Information Office in the village of Le Plan de la Tour to guide you. The beauty of the South of France is very seductive, with its picturesque ancient villages, beautiful beaches, heady aromas of the trees and plants and warmth of the local people, it is a wonderful place to holiday and relax. With the almost guaranteed blue skies and hot days, the wonderful provencal food and the ever flowing local wines, it is hard to leave and not want to come back time after time !

We are a family of three and like to visit Le Plan de la Tour as often as possible to see my elderly mother, Claire, who lives in the next block along to ourselves since 1984.

Why Ken Negus chose St Tropez region

Visiting my mother so often, we thought it would make sense to have a place of our own nearby for somewhere to stay.

What makes this apartment unique

I always remember this apartment from when I was quite young. My mother and I were invited there for drinks (as was typical) one summers afternoon, I never forget the open layout of the apartment and the striking view it had from the terrace. 20 years odd later the apartment was ours to own !! A dream come true !!

A perfect holiday residence

We (a family of four persons) stayed at this lovely apartment in july 2015. Our first impression was: what a clean house! There is a white and blue coloured scheme which gives a peaceful feeling. Also the accommodation was perfect. Name one thing and Ken has it! Everything we needed was there. The kitchen is fully equiped. There are a lot of extra towels and stuff if you want to go to the beach for one day, like cooling boxes and chairs and umbrellas. When we stayed there, there was a "canicule" (the french word for heatwave) so we really enjoyed the presence of several ventilators. There is a magnificent view on the village of Le Plan de la Tour when you are at the balcony. Especially in the evening, when you see the sunshine fade away and then the cosy lights of the village appear. One bathroom wasn't really enough for the four of us, but we helped ourselves out with another small bathroom in one of the bedrooms. There was a "rain"shower which was very enjoyable! Le Plan de la Tour is such a wonderful village! When we were there, there was a three-days village festival, perfect for kids and youngsters and everyone else who likes the typical French atmosphere. The weekly market is full of it! The only thing we didn't like very much was the fact that there weren't any seats or long chairs at the swimming pool. We had to bring up our own beds which wasn't very handy. Apart from that we also really liked the swimming pool, where people gather around 5 to chat with eachother and cool off after a hot summer day (in our case) The surrounding villages of le Plan de la Tour are worth visiting! To conclude this review we would like to thank Claire for the warm welcome and Wendy to guide us through the apartment. We will certainly come back!

Lovely stay

Last year we rented the appartement of the Negus family and we loved it!

It was clean, bright and has a magnificant view.

The appartement is only a few minutes away from the city centre of Plan de la Tour and it takes 15 min by car to the beach in Ste Maxime.

You can only enjoy your stay here!

A good choice

We stayed in this appartment one week in mid-June and it is one of the best places I have rented ever. Good standard for a reasonable price and there is everything you need for a relaxed holiday. Confortable beds, well equipped kitchen and a most wonderful terrace with a magnificent view over the village of Plan de la Tour. The village is full of colours, old French culture and friendly people. Take time to stroll along the narrow roads and you will experience a calm, a blow of history and that time stands still. We enjoyed the "Fête de la Musique" with excellent food, street music and danced with friends and locals to late into the night and brought with us some unforgettable memories.

We also appreciated the large and clean pool wich was only a few steps away from the appartment and nearby beautiful beaches in St Maxime wich could be reached in only 15 minutes by car.

Thanks Ken and Claire for very good service as well!

We enjoyed every minute and would love to come back some day.

Aufenthalt rundum genossen

Die Ferienwohnung liegt absolut ruhig am oberen Ende der Domaine. Kein Verkehr da nur Zugangsstrasse. Nahe den 2015 renovierten Schwimmbecken und Tennisplatz. Trotzdem kein Lärm von dort. Parkplatz direkt vor der Haustür. Weg zu Fuß ins Dorf (Bäcker, Supermarkt, Restaurants) etwa sieben Minuten. Nächster schöner Strand „la Nartelle“ etwa 15 min mit dem Auto. Weitere verschiedenartige und teilweise sehr schöne Strände in etwa 30 min zu erreichen. An allen Stränden war Anfang September (keine französischen Schulferien mehr) problemlos ein Parkplatz zu finden.

Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Sehr schöne geräumige Terrasse mit Blick über das Dorf in die Hügel (kein Meerblick). Markise, großer Schirm, Liegen, schöner Tisch und Stühle (keine Plastikmöbel). Hochwertig neu renoviertes Bad. Betten ebenfalls hochwertig, eher feste Matratzen. Moskitonetze in den Schlafzimmerfenstern.

Keine Klimaanlage, aber mehrere Standventilatoren. Die brauchten wir allerdings Anfang September nicht mehr und Mücken waren auch keine da.

Geräumiges Wohnzimmer mit amerikanischer Küche. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet. Eigene Waschmaschine.

Nett sind die vielen Extras (Strandsonnenschirme, Strandstühle, Kühlboxen, CD und DVD Sammlung, Tennisschläger).

Le Plan de la Tour ist ein hübscher, relativ untouristischer provencalischer Ort mit intaktem Dorfleben. Man hat Zeit und grüßt sich. Mehrere gute Restaurants. Wenig nichtfranzösische Touristen. Riesenunterschied zum 15 min entfernten Saint Maxime.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt rundum genossen und werden wiederkommen.

The property has everything necessary for a relaxing holiday- very comfortably furnished and with an excellent level of equipment - including an extensive range of kitchen utensils and gadgets, dishwasher and washing machines, sunbeds for the terrace and for the pool, and beach beds for the beach; parasols, tennis racquets and balls, and a boules set for the petanques match ! There is a designated private parking position just outside the apartment - really everything necessary for a totally restful holiday in Provence.
