The pasture Chapy is placed at the beginning of the Val Ferret, in a charming, sunny, secluded but easily accessible, along the path up to Rifugio Pavillon and the Botanical Garden Saussurea and continue up to the Torino hut and Punta Helbronner, on the summit of the Mont Blanc range. You can conveniently reach the Rifugio Pavillon and Punta Helbronner cable car, summer and winter, and from here you can go down to Chamonix by cable car or, in winter skiing, along the Mer de Glace.
The pasture is surrounded by meadows where cows graze in the summer of the shepherds who daily prepare fresh butter and fontina to season. Deer, chamois, deer, foxes ... enliven the forest and, especially in autumn and spring, they are approaching the cabin.
In winter the hut can only be reached by a short walk on foot, with snowshoes or skis; or with a thrilling ride in ski or snowboard directly from Punta Helbronner (m. 3462) along the Toula glacier, first between the seracs and then along the wide slopes leading at the Pavillon (m. 2173) and from here, through the dense fir forest, you reach the last plains around the lodge, where you expect a polenta and mulled wine.
