This beautiful building was once a historic clay drying facility and part of China Clay heritage of Cornwall.Conveniently place for walking and cycling on the Clay Trails through the Cornish Countryside is a must.

Within the conversion there are three properties all sleeping up to 6 people:-

Perfectly situated to enjoy the benefits of Cornwall, these converted clay drying buildings provide an ideal base to explore the county.

The properties are part of the rich China Clay heritage of Cornwall.

Cycling and walking on the official ’Clay Trails’ within the area are a must, on which you can explore the area and even reach the world famous Eden Project.

St Austell with its leisure centre is approx 5 miles as is the village of Charlestown, home to ’tall ships’ and a shipwreck heritage museum that houses artefacts from the Titanic.

The fishing village of Padstow is easily accessible. Newquay, with its excellent surfing beaches is approximately 12 miles away, and close by is Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, ’Fifteen’.

The ancient fishing port of Fowey is within 10 miles and was the home to ’Daphne Du Maurier’; it has many events throughout the year such as the Du Maurier Festival and the Fowey Royal Reggatta.

Bodmin Moor is also close by and provides an excellent location for horse riding, walking and mountain biking. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House and Crealy Adventure Park are all within an easy drive.

Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile and walkable.

There is a large area for Parking on site - in fact you can park right outside your holiday home.

There is a small Children's play area with swings and a slide plus gardens and grounds to explore and enjoy.

Wifi can be a bit intermittent in Wheal Prosper but is present in Mica and Furness.

There is full 3G mobile network in the area and it is strong.

There is a good Wifi connection in the laundry area where guests can sit and use free of charge.

About Ash, Lou & David

Lou (pictured), Ash & David are the property manager's for the owners and are the Trio who form Holiday Homes of Cornwall.

Their office is based in the enchanting and historic harbour town of Charlestown - where the famous Poldark is filmed.

Lou, Ash & David live locally and have a real mix of careers experience between them.

Lou comes from a high tempo sales role in London, Ash from a Sales & Estate Agency career and David from a long career in the Royal Air Force moving into Sales & Estate Agency in recent years; all having been given a firm grounding and understanding of what Customer Service really means. They understand that Customer Care needs to be tailored to every individual. It is not something that can be applied to everyone in the same way.

It's important to them that your holiday goes as smoothly and as happily as possible and that it's jam packed full of fun & adventure too - making wonderful memories for you all.

Lou, Ash & David moved to Cornwall in recent years and know the County very well so any questions you may have or any hep you need to make your holiday perfect, please do not hesitate to ask.

Spacious accommodation in a good location for exploring central Cornwall

We had an enjoyable week in this property, which is in an interesting building and quite quirky. It is very spacious, and well equipped but we didn't like the fact that there didn't seem to be much natural light in the property - which made it feel quite gloomy, particularly in the downstairs lounge. The small seating area outside at the back was nice, but there was no view. There was no blind at the sky light in one of the bedrooms which made sleeping in that room difficult.

The property is well located in that its a relatively short drive to a number of places, including the Eden Project, St Austell, Mevagissey, Padstow, but in itself is quite remote, and so it is really necessary to drive to get anywhere.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Malcolm. Yes, Carbis Wharf is well located for getting around popular areas of Cornwall itand is semi rural, so good for those looking to get away for a peaceful break or walkers and not for guests who would prefer to be able to walk to amenities, although the local pub and a convenience store can be reached on foot in 15 -20 minutes. I have forwarded the comments about there being no blind in the bedroom to the owners. Apologies for any inconvenience this caused. Best wishes, Lou
