Good week in Wikingstil
We spent a delightful week in a very comfortable house. Trips to Stockholm are very easy by boat, the discovery of archipel is even easier. Our hosts were very attentive.
Liebe Michael & familie,
Thank you very much, - it was so nice to have you here and we are so glad you enjoyed it fully. We certainly hope to see you back !
Alles besten, Torbjörn & Pia
A traditional Swedish homestead in quiet setting direct on waterfront and vicinity to Stockholm
We stayed (for 2 weeks) as launching customers in the renovated ground-floor of this traditional Swedish home which has a history of more than 100 years. The rooms (i.e. living, dining, kitchen, hallway and two bedrooms) are spacious and will comfortably accommodate 2 to 4 guests. The bathroom / toilet, although recently refurbished is modest in size with shower and washbasin. The kitchen has new appliances since the recent renovation.
The old house is very comfortable and has retained its Swedish touch with mixture of old and new furniture. A large bonus is the covered veranda with new chairs, bench and outdoors table, from where one has an excellent overview of the garden and water. Below the veranda is a tiled terrace with fixed barbecue installation.
The garden is spacious and comes with a small rowing boat, and space to park 1 (or max 2) cars. The boathouse down at the waterfront is often rented out separately, but privacy in the main house and veranda is excellent. The surrounding area is very quiet with few neighbors and no through traffic, so an ideal space for people who enjoy nature. Shopping is some 10 minutes away from car and Stockholm can be reached within 30 to 45 minutes via two nearby ferry stops (one at 10 minutes walking distance, and one at 10 minutes driving. This allowing to avoid big city traffic and parking hassle.
The hosts Torbjörn and Pia were very helpful with starting guidance and info and also in subsequent contacts were happily sharing more recommendations for trips and places to view. They live on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the main house.
In summary: a small gem hidden in proximity to Stockholm and very near the main shipping channel with veranda and garden facing South, and hill behind sheltering from NW to NE winds.

The host couples live in the upper floor of the house and are usually available on arrival and departure and for any questions during your stay. The apartment's P-place is next to the house. The area is scenic and calm with a lot of visits to the deer and a rich sea birdlife nearby. The house is at the end of the return road with minimal car traffic. The proximity of the Velamsund Nature Reserve invites you to many and varied forest walks or winter skiing. Elljus tracks for running and skiing. Just 10 min to Orminge Center with everything in the form of supermarkets, shops and community services. Bus to Stockholm (Slussen) at least 1 ggn / hour from the stop 600 m hold. Waxholmsbåt to Stckholm or out to the archipelago adds at Ris's bridge, about 1.5 km away.
