About Rick Storlie
Hello! My name is Rick Storlie. I have a 9 year old son Mason and 11 year old daughter Breanna. I live in Savage, MN and I'm originally from Northfield. I'm also an alumni of St. Cloud State University.

Why Rick Storlie chose Turtle Lake Township
I looked all over northern MN and western Wisconsin before deciding on Walker MN and Leech Lake. Hayward WI and Brainerd, MN were just too commercial for me. I love the small town charm of Walker and the boating/fishing opportunities on Leech Lake. The area has tons of attractions with golf, great restaurants, shopping, hunting, biking and hiking to name just a few. I love to hunt and the Chippewa National Forest has some great grouse and deer hunting. In the summer running/biking is awesome and I'll spend a lot of time on the Paul Bunyon bike trails. Having dinner at Chase on the Lake in downtown Walker is a treat too. The best part is you feel like your up north but the drive is manageable from the twin cities.
What makes this House unique
Probably the best part about my home is the beach. The kids will play out there all day swimming, fishing and making sand castles. It's one of the best swimming beaches for kids we've ever seen with a pure sand bottom, gradual slope to the lake and shallow depths. I love to eat out on the deck and watch the kids play. The deck faces east so you don't get cooked by the sun in the afternoon. The walk to the beach is nearly flat and there's a great spot for campfires (I supply the wood). You can find chairs for sitting next to the fire under the deck. One of the overlooked aspects of my home is the privacy. The road is private and a dead end with about 12 cabins. There is an environmental lake across the street so no homes are built there. I only have a neighbor to the north and south. I've pretty much remodeled the entire home since 2008. There isn't much that wasn't replaced. I'd describe the home as a 'raised ranch.' The basement has about 6' of headroom with a 3/4 bath, scrapbooking/crafting room and laundry facilities. There's plenty of room to store your gear too. Upstairs you have a split bedroom configuration. One side of the home has 2 bedrooms separated by a full bath. The other side is the owner's suite. Nice home- great location and lake view
We stayed here during the winter to enjoy a weekend ice fishing trip Leech Lake. There were a couple hiccups during our stay which made me rate it a 4 Star instead of 5. The first thing was, the new thermostat was not set up and ready for use when we arrived. After working with Rick we finally figured out the issue and was able to heat the home nicely. The 2nd thing was that the hot water heater was not working when we arrived. After working with Rick again, we were able to get it working so that we could enjoy a nice hot shower. Other than that the home was very nice and cozy.
We had a great time on Leech Lake. The whole family enjoyed our days on the lake ice fishing and warming up by the fire at night. You feel right at home when you walk through the door! We will definitely be back!

A wonderful place!
Loon Lodge on Leech Lake is a wonderful place to stay. We have stayed three years in a row. We stay in the off-season and it is quiet and cold outside. The kitchen is well appointed able to handle a lot of cooking. The house has a dishwasher, washer/dryer and everything one needs. It is a cozy place and easy to rest from a hectic life. We have not experienced any kind of reservation, payment, or deposit refund problem which are easy processes. We would highly recommend Loon Lodge at Leech Lake.
Rick's cabin was great! Beach front property, quiet neighborhood, and a very cozy cabin we loved the log fireplace! We enjoyed a relaxing girls weekend here.
Great vacation place for family on Leech Lake!
Family had a great time at the Lodge! Excellent beach with shallow water depth out a long ways. Very safe for kids swimming and playing water games as well. House is perfect with excellent views of the lake and a nice relaxing deck setting. Wind can be an issue with Leech being such a large lake, but shelter of Traders Bay is quite helpful. Garage is a bit of an unexpected benefit to have available. Everything is set up and ready to go to enjoy your vacation. A big thanks to Rick and team!

Stay 3 for 2 weekends or 4 for 3 weekdays Early Spring and Late Fall Stay 4 for 3 Late Summer, Fall Seasons 3 night weekday (Sunday - Thursday) minimum Late Fall, Winter Ice, Early Spring and Spring Seasons Groups of 3-8 pay $5/person/night fee all all seasons except summer weekly rentals. The fee will automatically be calculated on Instant Quote Rewards Program- Stay 5 cumulative nights and get 1 night free! Contact owner for details. Rates subject to change without notice. Note: I keep my rates lower for groups of 5 or less by opening/closing bedrooms & baths. You'll always have access to all the living areas. -If your group is: -3 or less you'll have 1 bedroom/bath open (owner's suite) and the sofa sleeper. -4-6 you'll have 2 bedrooms/baths open (owner's suite and 2nd main floor bath. Chose between the bedroom with two twin beds or lakeside bedroom with the queen) and the sofa sleeper. -6 - 8 automatically have all 3 bedrooms/baths open and the sofa sleeper. -Summer weeks always have all beds/baths open regardless of group size If you'd like to open up an extra bed/bath that is not automatically included with your group size, you can pay a one-time cleaning fee of $30 + tax for each bed/bath combination. This is a one-time fee and not a nightly fee.
