About the property

Beautifully converted luxury stone barns perfect for exploring the Cornish coast

Nestled in idyllic countryside, Tredarrup Holiday Cottages are four beautifully converted, Grade 2 Listed, luxury barn conversions arranged around a courtyard with spectacular views across Cornwall. Dating from the 18th century, Mill Barn, Stable Cottage, Shippon and The Wagon are close to the stunning coast of North Cornwall, with its hidden coves, sandy beaches and picturesque fishing villages, and just a short drive from the dramatic expanse of Bodmin Moor. Spend your days exploring the picturesque harbours of Padstow and Port Isaac or build sandcastles, go rock pooling and have a go at surfing on one of the many nearby sandy beaches. Discover the mystical Tintagel Castle, with its stunning view of the coastline, and walk the picturesque South West Coast Path, perhaps stopping off for a cream tea en-route. With Michelin-starred restaurants, cosy cafes and dog-friendly pub restaurants, North Cornwall is heaven for food lovers. Return after a day's exploring to your stylish and luxurious stone cottage and relax; enjoy an evening walk around the 7 acres of gardens and grounds, maybe have a BBQ whilst watching the sun set over Cornwall or snuggle up in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a good film, courtesy of complimentary Netflix and super-fast wi-fi. Sleeping between 2 and 6 people in spacious comfort, Tredarrup Holiday Cottages are in an ideal location for exploring all of Cornwall and Devon. About Graham and Lorraine Lay

Hi! We're Graham and Lorraine Lay and we fulfilled a lifelong dream to move to Cornwall when we bought Tredarrup Holiday Cottages near the coast of North Cornwall in January 2017. Born and brought up in London, we moved to rural Wiltshire in 1990 to bring up our children until we could finally retire from our jobs and move to the West Country. We get great personal satisfaction from always providing our guests with a superb experience, ensuring they go home with terrific memories of their time in Cornwall.

Graham and Lorraine Lay purchased this barn in 2017

Why Graham and Lorraine Lay chose Michaelstow

We've always dreamed of living in Cornwall, having holidayed here as children ourselves and enjoyed countless family holidays with our own three children. Cornwall has its own unique identity, which it is rightly proud of, and you're never far from the sea and the stunning coastline. The north coast where we are situated is wild and rugged, rich in myth and legend, whilst the gentler south coast, popular with sailors and tourists, is also within very easy reach. Bodmin Moor in the centre of Cornwall is popular with walkers and is rich in ancient history - watch out for The Beast of Bodmin Moor!

What makes this barn unique

After an extensive search we consider ourselves very lucky to have found Tredarrup. With stunning views across Cornwall, the property is 400 years old and unspoilt, with an abundance of original features and thick stone walls, which all contribute to it obtaining the highest possible star rating from VisitEngland. We fell in love immediately. The original conversions of this stunning Grade 2 Listed property were very well done and we have been able to build our own improvements to make these four unique cottages a luxurious, stylish and comfortable retreat for your holiday. Having stayed in countless self-catering properties ourselves over the last 30 years these are honestly the best cottages we have seen and we hope you'll feel the same!

Lovely accommodation. Perfect for two couples enjoying a week away from it all with the dogs. Loved the welcome pack including a very tasty homemade cake and fresh eggs !! Great for the dogs with a good fenced meadow for exercise. Good location to get out and about. Will recommend to friends and family.

Set in a gorgeous location with access to so many areas of North Cornwall. Our accommodation was well presented and comfortable with a little courtyard overlooking the valley. Our hosts were very welcoming and provided a lovely welcome pack and tasty cake! Would definitely recommend.

Great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was extremely well maintained, spacious and yet still very cosy. The owner/manager provided a warm welcome, which included a dozen fresh eggs and a home made cake. She was friendly throughout our stay and was very helpful providing us with advice of places to visit as well as the best routes to take. We found this very helpful having never visited Cornwall before.

We would certainly recommend the Stable Cottage to friends or family and would return ourselves if we are ever lucky enough to make another visit to the area. All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday for the entire family.
