Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is in a superb quiet location, with very few tourists yet very close to 'everything'. We very much enjoyed walking to and from the apartment.

Communication was excellent. We were welcomed at the Vaporetto by Adrianna, a lovely lady who walked us to the apartment. Adriana also took the time to give us great tips on what to see in Venice.

We loved the small cafés close by and the windows opening on the canal.

We found the place immaculate with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. We would definitely come back!

Beautifully decorated apartment in Venice

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. Nearby market, several restaurants. Not too far to walk to St. Mark's Square. Quiet and very nice. Washer/dryer was appreciated. Wonderful stay in Venice. Initial contact did not speak any English which was a slight problem for us as we needed some help when we got to Venice but we were able to figure out what we needed later.

The apartment is exactly as presented on Home Away. We enjoyed it & the neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

The best surprise is 'no surprise'. This property is exactly as presented on HomeAway.

The management was very helpful; we elected to take a water taxi from the airport rather than the Alilaguna Blue line. Management (Paula) identified a drop off close to the apartment (Fundamenta Furlani) where the greeter, Laura, was waiting for us. This was an especially nice touch, as we had to walk only a couple of minutes (and over one small bridge) to be 'home'.

The apartment is exactly as shown on HomeAway. It is clean, commodious, and a totally great place for a sojourn in Venice. It is very quiet, both day and night. Occasionally, a small boat motored quietly by on the canal just outside our window, but these were never a disturbance, and in fact added to our sense of being part of Venice.

If there was a (minor) negative, it was the décor -- which is clearly Venetian. We are both architects with modernist leanings. But there were no surprises in this regard. The décor is exactly as shown on the website, and was certainly not an issue for us, at all.

The facilities (bathroom, kitchen, bed, etc.) were clean and perfectly serviceable. We only prepared breakfasts during our stay as there are too many good restaurants nearby to be cooking at home. But it would be possible to fix complete dinners here quite easily. There is a surprisingly large, well stocked market just a 3 minute walk from the apartment.

We very much enjoyed the immediate neighborhood. Much of it is labyrinthine, a medieval maze to be solved. We enjoyed exploring different routes, complete with many "Oop! Wrong way! Gotta go back". After just two days, however, we were easily navigating our way to the Grand Canal, to San Marco, to Celestia and to Zaccharia as if we were natives, all of which made it all the more enjoyable.

For dining, we can heartily recommend Trattoria da Jonny -- one minute from the apartment door, just over the short footbridge outside our living room window. There are several others nearby, of course, as you walk to Stagione Arsenale or towards San Marco.

The weather was exceedingly hot while we were in Venice... upper 90s most days and dropping only to 75 overnight. So we were pleased that the owner had provided a portable air conditioner, which worked remarkably well, and kept us comfortable throughout our visit.

In short, we very much enjoyed our stay in Venice, in the apartment, and in the neighborhood. We expect you will as well.

Quiet and convenient

  • 4 of 5

Very well located by an canal in a convenient but quiet location. The apartment was well equiped and in a neighbourhood frequented by locals with few tourists. There was plenty of space and it was decorated in a fanciful manner. Not far from St Mark's Square and we were able to walk to most places of interest.

Great Apartment!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I toured Italy for a few weeks and rented several apartments. Guy's apartment was one of our favorites! He was away when we arrived so he sent his representative, Michela. She was very friendly, receptive and thorough. The apartment was beautiful! It was clean, well equipped and just as described. I highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful flat in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

I cannot recommend this property more highly. Everything you require for a self catering holiday in Venice is provided in a central location. We were met by the friendly local representative of the owner, who guided us to the property and gave tips on local amenities. If we needed help during our stay, she lived close at hand and told us to contact her (this was not required).

The large flat is in a picturesque location by a canal in a local residential area only 6 mins walk from San Marco. Lots of good local shops, cafe and restaurants are within 3 minutes walk. Very quiet, very few tourists.

There were 4 in our party. The large spare bed is at the opposite end of the property from the bedroom and bathroom, so this was not a problem.

This was our second 1 week stay in Venice; if we come back we will stay at this property again.
