Sleeps 4 (2 beds). On the first floor of the Cortijo, accommodation comprises an open-plan lounge/diner with sofa and a fully equipped modern kitchen. A family-sized bathroom with shower and bath serves 2 spacious double/twin bedrooms. A private terrace, with dining furniture under the walnut tree plus barbeque, provides al fresco dining with views to the beautiful countryside, leading from the lounge/diner. Linen, bathroom towels and weekly clean provided, additional cleaning can be organised on request and at additional cost.

Quirky note – this traditional accommodation has some low doorways and ceiling struts which require our clients to duck! If this is an issue for you, please choose the “Estrellas” apartment.

Beautiful farmhouse with pool

There are two tastefully decorated apartments - "Las Estrellas" and "El Nogal" each with two double/twin bedrooms, fully appointed private kitchen/diner, family bathroom and living room and private terrace for dining and sunbathing; plus a shared outdoor pool and further communal terraces. Guests can benefit from the flexibility of renting both apartments if you have a larger group of family or friends.

Due to our mountainside location, we enjoy stunning and wide ranging views of Andalucian countryside complete with olive groves, overlooking the village of Villanueva del Trabuco.

We are lucky to live in this stunning area of Andalucia in Spain. We love the flexibility it provides, depending on your mood; you can either chill in the sun (at the villa, at the nearby lakes or beach) or you can be more active – exploring the traditional white towns and cosmopolitan cities – or go further and get energetic with walking, biking, horse-riding or skiing.

Your safety is very important to us. Due to our beautiful mountain-side location, there are steps up to each apartment and from the pool area to each apartment and their private terraces. Families with very young children, or clients with mobility requirements are reminded of this before booking and to take precautions during their holiday.

About Emma B

Dave and Emma have renovated the farmhouse since we bought it in 2008, putting a lot of hard work, love and thought into shaping the house and gardens into a place where our clients can feel relaxed and energised.

Originally from Manchester in UK, Dave has travelled the world touring as a professional musician and more latterly re-trained as an electrical engineer. Dave’s sense of adventure, fun and travel experience makes him a great host, and he also has an on-site music studio to offer our customers additional activities.

Originally from Lincolnshire in UK, Emma’s background in marketing and a penchant for incredibly hot weather and sandy beaches led her and Dave to make the decision to settle in Andalucia and open a business close to their hearts.

Perfect Family Break!

“From start to finish, my family and I had a superb time. The property was clean, tastefully decorated and cool in the heat. The pool was a joy for us all, particularly the children. The views are stunning. Set into the mountain, we marvelled at the scenery all around, which culminated each day in absolutely glorious sunsets. The track/road running up to the property gets about five cars passing per day, which allowed us to fully unwind and enjoy the birds and wildlife in the area. We can’t speak highly enough of the place. My youngest daughter refused to leave the pool when it was time to head to the airport, which in spirit was a sentiment we all agreed with. We will definitely be back as it feels impossible to tire of the relaxing and recharging atmosphere, and there is so much to do and see in the area you can be guaranteed of a new experience each time. We really enjoyed Malaga and had a good drive to Marbella for some beach time. Thank you to Emma and Dave for creating the perfect atmosphere. We’ll see you again soon!!”

Wonderful Holiday Apartments

Really well kitted-out and designed and faithful to descriptions. Thoughtful welcome basket ready for our arrival in the evening: water, juice, milk, cereals, crisps, nuts and a bottle of cold white wine. Also plenty of UK adapter plugs, reliable WiFi with a speaker to connect to, inflatables and other pool toys, and nightlights in the children's room.

Bedrooms and bathroom are big with plenty of storage space. Everything is spotless and the sheets smelt really lovely. The building is full of character with lots of nooks and alcoves, but tastefully done and beautiful inside and out. There are terraces to sit at, and the views and sunsets are stunning. We didn't use any insect repellent there (end of May) and didn't get bitten at all.

We had a fantastic city day in Malaga and a beach day in Marbella during our stay. There are woods next to the apartment, and our children went horse-riding nearby too and loved it. The pool is great. We could easily have stayed for a fortnight, so plan to next time. Or if we can manage it, a weekend break without the kids. It's a very romantic place, with the mountain towering up behind the apartments and the starry skies.

Emma and Dave are good hosts: they're close-by and knowledgeable when you need them, but we still felt like we had the place to ourselves. The local village is great for restaurants and cafes and there are plenty of shops if you did forget to pack something. All the people we met were really friendly and we totally fell in love with the place.

We are on the path to the "100 pipes" or "Fuente de los cien canos". a natural site in Villanueva del Trabuco that is quite renowned. The gigantic fountain channels the water coming from the Sierra de San Jorge and is one of the biggest contributors to the Guadalhorce river in its starting section.

It is found in the Sierra de San Jorge, on the eastern end of the Sierra de Camarolos and is part of the Arco Calizo Central Malagueño [Central Limestone Range of Málaga]. The fountain is a traditional recreational area to the neighbours of Villanueva del Trabuco and the rest of the region.
