2 Bedroomed Cottage with Cathedral View
About Janet Gill
We live in Lincolnshire. My husband grew up in a village close to Ely and his family still live in the area.
Janet Gill purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Janet Gill chose Ely
We bought Angel Cottage as our second home and spent several months bringing it back to life. We love Ely and the surrounding area. There are so many historic places to visit and so much to do and enjoy in the City itself and nearby. We hope you will find that too!
What makes this Cottage unique
We like the traditional features in the cottage, having views of the Cathedral and being so close to the City centre.

Our stay in Ely
A very good house in a perfect location ideal for exploring Ely.
Nearby shops and take aways and the beautiful cathedral.
Every thing you normally need is in the house, it’s very clean and comfortable and provided with a private parking space.
Ely is located very central with easy access to the places you like to visit.
We had a wonderful stay!
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Angel Cottage. Thank you for being such lovely guests.
Really good in Ely
House clean and spacious for 3 adults. Warm welcome including bottle of wine. Very well equipped for self catering, though plenty of eat out, bring in options. Minor issue, Broad Street can be a bit noisy with the windows open, which is needed in hot weather.
cottage was compact but very pretty; some road noise as on main track from city centre, but did not detract from holiday,
short walk (minutes) to Cathedral and town centre. Lots of
sightseeing and restaurants/coffee shops. Lovely market, something on nearly every day. Short train ride for day in Cambridge. parking in property grounds was a bonus.
Would def visit again.
Many thanks and hope to see you again sometime in the future
A haven away
Just spent a week in this pleasant cosy cottage in a really convenient location with things just on your doorstep. l felt to say well done to the owners as there are some nice touches to the place. The position of the cottage is ideal to as there's a very good Chinese at the front of the property along with a good Indian takeaway and good fish and chip shop. It was good to have off road parking too. My wife and I really enjoyed our holiday as Ely and Cambridge are special places to see.
Ely Markets: General market every Thursday; Craft & Collectables every Saturday; Farmers' Market every 2nd and 4th Saturday; Sunday market and also on Bank Holiday Monday.
Ely has a wealth of attractions to enjoy including: Ely Cathedral & Tower, The Stained Glass Museum, Oliver Cromwell's House, Ely Museum. Ely's Riverside area is a favourite for people watching and you can take a cruise along the river on The Liberty Belle. The Maltings Antiques Centre and the Art Galleries are by the riverside area.
A little further afield is Newmarket (11 miles) Cambridge 20 miles (16 minutes by train), London (one hour by train), Norfolk Coast (one hour drive)
There is a huge selection of restaurants, cafes and tea shops within Ely to suit all tastes and budgets.
