About Felicia Jones
We purchased this property and main house as a weekend/holiday retreat for our family, to offset our lives in NYC. It reminds us of our childhoods growing up on the Missouri River and Northern California. In 2010 we completed construction of the Carriage House Apartment for over flow of family and friends.
Felicia Jones purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2005

Wonderful property with everything you need for a great country getaway!
Great getaway digs!
We stayed in this home for a long weekend in April with our dog. Very clean, comfortable, well appointed and gracious hosts. The area was perfect for us with plenty of hiking and waterfalls to explore. Our dog especially enjoyed looking out the sliding glass doors at all the birds that came to visit the feeders. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the river due to cold, rainy weather, but the seating area and fire table would be great during warmer months. Would definitely recommend a stay here!
Beautiful, comfortable stay in Falls Village
Rural, yet modern 1 br 1 ba accomodation perfect for 2 people, in NW CT near Mass. border in farm country. Area full of hiking trails, incl. Applachian, streams, mountain views, quaint towns, dairy farms, and varied dining spots. Mountain bikes and kayaks available, the property is immaculate, and the hosts, plus Cleo, quite pleasant. Would definitely visit here again!
Thanks Joe and Colleen,
We , and Cleo, sure hope you do visit again?
Felicia & Joel
The Carriage House has everything you need for a private, luxurious, couple's getaway.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Felicia was gracious and available if needed, yet totally respected our privacy. Her extra touches impart a sense of luxury - fresh fruit, muffins and croissants from Sweet Williams in Salisbury, a French press with organic coffee and milk from Arethusa Dairy. You could spend all your time right on the property - relaxing on the deck by the river, paddling upstream, strolling through the meadow, sitting around the fire pit, or playing badminton on the lawn. It is also the perfect jumping off point for exploring the northwest corner of Connecticut with its quaint towns, waterfalls and wineries, and beautiful lakes. We highly recommend the Carriage House and will definitely return the next time we travel to the area.
Where Conn meets R&R
Where do I begin... what an amazing stay! My husband and I spontaneously had a couple of days and we were in desperate need to leave NYC. Trying to find something accommodating two dogs, last minute in July is never easy. So finding this hidden GEM was perfection. It was an easy 2 hr drive from NYC and pulling up to the property all you see is this luscious Central Park looking lawn! The Carriage house is next to the main house which is an arrangement I’ve never done prior, but Felicia and Joel were such warm and AMAZING hosts that by the end of the weekend it felt like we were on vacation with old friends! The Carriage house was SPOTLESS and so cute and cozy that I felt right at home. The dogs however had the best host ever! Cleo was a darling doggy host! She would play with my dogs and walk us down to the river which is just a 3 minute walk down this perfectly manicured walkway to a cute sitting area with a fire table that you can hang out on while the doggies took a swim! Felicia and Joel were even nice enough to help us launch the kyacks one morning. They also had paddle boards which I just didn’t have time to do. They truly were just so welcoming and I’m so grateful that they opened their home to us. They were extremely respectful of our privacy, but we really enjoyed their company. We also took advantage of the Appalachian Trail which there is an opening just a 2 minute walk from the house. We were able to take the dogs out there and the trails were perfect for dogs especially those who like swimming and running around off the leash. We went to some great restaurants which are only 10 minutes away and wish we stayed longer to try a couple more. Felicia was even sweet enough to watch one of my dogs who had a limp, while we went on a trail with my other pup. All and all a PERFECT vacation if you are looking to get out of the city and are in need of some adventure or simply want to relax and have some wine on your own private deck while having beautiful birds and nature sorround you! Thanks Felicia and Joel for your hospitality!
Can't wait to return - super hosts!
Couldn't have had a better stay! 5 stars!
This is a restful, beautifully kept property that is incredibly comfortable with stunning grounds. It's a fully updated, super clean one bedroom with full kitchen, windowed bathroom with shower and private 2nd story deck that has everything you need – and then some. The home is thoughtfully prepared with lots of goodies to make guest comfortable: a stocked pantry (with local dairy milk and farm fresh eggs during my stay), a French press, maps and interesting books about the region’s history and wildlife as well as bug spray, flashlight, and a supply of fresh linens.
Wake up in the morning to enjoy your coffee on the deck with the blue jays, sparrows, chickadees and finches – or take a short walk past the veggie and herb garden to the river via the path that winds through the tall pines and go for a swim. Or, after a good stretch of the legs at the nearby AT trail head (a 2 minute walk to the entrance), head off to find the numerous waterfalls and trails in the area.
15 minutes to Salisbury, CT (Restaurants, Gourmet Wine & Groceries) and 25 minutes to Millerton, NY (Restaurants, Movie House, Antiquing, Live Music), 40 minutes to Great Barrington (Shopping, Restaurants, Music, Movies).
Lime Rock Raceway is 5 Miles away.
