Why URelax Vacation Rentals chose Paso Robles

'Paso' still has that old world charm that allows you to slow down and unwind in a climate that is perfect all year round. We love being able to walk to town and bike from our door, but most of all, the house has that unique, peaceful atmosphere that only comes with the grace of a beautiful old home. Besides that, we love being able to walk to numerous world class restaurants and to be able to walk home again after enjoying some local wine!!

What makes this house unique

We love just hanging out here, whether surrounded by friends at the grand dining room table or out by the pool having a bbq. There is always something fun going on at the City Park or fine wining and dining to explore - all within walking distance! The road biking in the area hooked us.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This home was recently rented directly by the owner and is now under a property manager. This review was from the previous VRBO Ad.

We were meeting a couple families from SF and it worked out perfectly! The pool and hot tub were great for entertaining the kids and for cooling off in the middle of summer in the hot paso sun. The kitchen was well stocked and the big dining table allowed us all to sit around and have meals together. There were lots of fluffy bath towels and pool towels to use, and the laundry machine was a plus.

Great location - some issues with the house

  • 3 of 5

First the positives: we loved the location - quiet neighborhood and easy walk to downtown; we found the house charming and well equipped and particularly enjoyed the bikes. Now the not so great: by the time the fees were added in, this ended up being quite an expensive rental (VRBO won't allow me to say how much.) For that, the pool should have been swimmable. It wasn't, it was freezing - even on July 1st. There were also maintenance issues with the house. One bathroom that served two bedrooms was unusable: the toilet didn't flush and there was no hot water in the shower. The spa light was out, so getting into the spa at night was treacherous. The property is professionally managed, so all this was all a little disappointing. I hate to give a negative review as I have owned rental property myself, but wished I'd spent less on a house without a pool, as that is essentially what we got.

Owner's Response: Hi Peter - thank you for sharing your feedback with us. In the future please contact us during your stay and we will immediately address any maintenance issues. After your stay we found that the hot water and toilet were functioning normally. We do advertise the pool as having no heat, during the summer when it's pretty warm in Paso most guests enjoy a cooler pool. The good news on that front is we are expecting to install solar heat for the pool in the next few months. Thank you for staying with us.

Property and house were perfect

  • 4 of 5

We had large party (wedding nearby).....the home was ‘as advertised’ historic. Everything about the house (floors, furniture, decor, exterior....)was fantastic....the utilities (bathrooms, kitchen, WiFi, television, pool and spa were all great (2nd VRBO in row where the only umbrella at pool was trashed b4 we got there)...

Our only ‘complaint’ about the stay was the directive to “pull all the sheets and linens”, put trash cans out, aka the maid service...obviously it is not a ‘hotel’...but it sort of sours the end of great trip doing ‘laundry’ duty b4 leaving.

Clean, Comfortable and Accommadating

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Historic Tolle House! We were in town for our son's college graduation. We had parents, grandparents and siblings staying. The five bedrooms (very comfortable beds!) and 4 bathrooms were perfect for our group. The big dining room table was great for family meals. The house was very clean.

We hired a photographer and had family photos taken in the side yard with the beautiful old brick as the back drop.

Everything was perfect!!! We would love to stay here again and spend more time exploring downtown Paso Robles.

Tolle House - pleasant stay

  • 5 of 5

Love the charming, old house with updated kitchen and a pool. Attended a family wedding nearby and it was nice to have a first floor bed/bath for Grandma. Also convenient location as we could walk to downtown shops for coffee, etc.

Beautiful historic house just a short walk from downtown

  • 5 of 5

This historic house is just as shown in the photos. It's a beautiful place on a quiet, residential street. We walked downtown for an excellent lunch at Fish Gaucho. The kitchen is well equipped for group cooking. The upstairs is accessed via a narrow, steep staircase, but that is typical in an old house like this. We were disappointed that the spa was not working. We will stay here again.
