About the property

High spec, five bedroom house very close to Mylor Harbour.

A beautiful 5 bedroom Edwardian House with a modern green oak framed extension angled at 45 degrees to take advantage of the beautiful view over Mylor Creek. The heart of the house is a large live in fully equipped SieMatic kitchen that opens directly onto a spectacular multilayered and landscaped garden. The dining table seats 10 comfortably. There is also a spacious family room which opens directly onto the garden and a well equipped media room complete with large screen, surround sound and a Play Station 4. In addition there is a cloakroom and a study. On the first floor, there are five bedrooms, two en suite bathrooms and a family shower room - all tastefully furnished in an eclectic style.

There is a wonderful multi layered garden with a fully equipped barbecue.

Situated at the end of a no through road the house offers unparalleled peace and tranquility in one of Cornwall's most desirable locations between Mylor Bridge and Mylor Churchtown. One can launch a small boat into Mylor Creek from directly in front of the house or moor or rent a bigger boat from Mylor Yacht Harbour, a short and beautiful stroll through to the end of the lane and though the churchyard. Mylor Harbour has the finest yachting and boating facilities in Cornwall with marina berths, moorings, chandlery, boatyard and restaurants.

A few miles to the South, Falmouth is home to the world's third largest natural harbour and the sailing waters of the Carrick Roads. Truro is 10 miles to the North. There is a good pub in Mylor Bridge and the famous Pandora Inn is also close by. Flushing is a half hour walk and the ferry to Falmouth can be boarded there. The whole area is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

About Terri McGovern

We are a "retired" English couple with backgrounds in business and psychotherapy who divide our time between Tuscany, Bali and beautiful Falmouth, Cornwall, which is a recent move from the Cotswolds. We organised the house to entertain guests and family so that we can be with our friends in comfort in an area with plenty to keep us all occupied. We fitted it our for rainy days with an amazing sonos sound system and plenty of high performance media . As we are away a good deal of the time we want to make it available to others who can enjoy it as well. We are constantly tweeking it and look forward to the input of our guests,

Why Terri McGovern chose Mylor

It is a very comfortable house. It has a marvellous garden, great sea views, a foreshore to launch from and a generally rural feel. However, it also has shops, pubs and a yacht club to boot all in walking distance. Plus it is a gorgeous stroll along the seafront to Flushing where one can catch the ferry to Falmouth which is a five minute journey over the water! We can walk to Falmouth centre in 30 minutes! How cool is that! If that were not enough Falmouth is a great base to discover all that this corner of England has to offer. There are dozens of great days out from here and we are still exploring ourselves.

What makes this house unique

The property has a good quality Siematic kitchen with a built in Gaggenau coffee machine. It has five comfortable double bedrooms all with smart TVs and the whole house has a feeling of spaciousness and airiness. It is an unusual house in that it has an Edwardian part with cozy rooms and woodburning stoves, and a modern extension with more open and loft type spaces which open onto decks an balconies. The entire surrounding environment is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the creek in the foreground and ancient romantic woods towering behind it. The Creek itself opens onto the Carrack Roads - universally acknowledged as some of the best sailing in Europe but you don't have to be a sailor to enjoy this house. The walks are spectacular. The birdsong is amongst the most intense you will hear and the house itself is a great place to be rain or shine. It really is special.

Lovely stay in Mylor

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this large and beautiful house. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor spaces were lovely. The house is tucked away down a quiet, peaceful narrow lane. There are plenty of walking paths and a little village about a ten minute walk away. We would highly recommend this property.
