Gael Holiday Homes
A lovely home from home in beautiful surroundings
The location of Ardshellach is wonderful: a peaceful and beautiful spot with fabulous views and yet by no means isolated. There are neighbours - and the ones we met were very friendly - but, from the main windows, you can see not a single building, even in the distance. There are shops, pubs and restaurants within 2-3 miles and Oban is about 20 minutes away - everything you need can be found there.
The area is full of things to do and places to visit and the house contains full information about them all, in the form of a helpful pair of files compiled by the owner and previous guests, as well as copious books on the wider area and leaflets of local interest.
The house itself is spacious, with excellent storage and a well equipped kitchen and laundry room. In addition, the gardens are lovely and very well maintained. We were visited by a red squirrel and numerous birds.
As proof that we would thoroughly recommend Ardshellach is the fact that, of all the many holiday homes we have rented, this is the one to which we will be returning.
We loved our stay here in this special property with views over the trees to the Loch. The weather was superb--hot in the daytime and cool at night.
We were into Oban every day for one thing or another but spent most of our time just lounging around in the large garden
Highly recommended!!!! Mike Sarah and Lizzie
Wir waren mit dem Objekt rundum zufrieden.
There are a couple of restaurants nearby, The Hawthorn Restaurant is within 3.4 miles of the property, the Falls Restaurant is an 8-minute drive from the property and Tralee bay fish and chips is a 3.5 miles drive from the property. All pubs and bars are in the nearby town of Oban which is located 7.4 miles away and will take 18 minutes to drive. A car is recommended.
