About the property

Bedrooms 3, Bathrooms 3, Sleeps 6

Beautiful and modern three-bedroom and three-bathroom apartment on the third floor of an elegant building (serviced by elevator) overlooking Bologna’s main avenue, which stretches from the Railway Station to Piazza Maggiore; a perfect location for guests to explore the city’s historic center.

Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, and are provided with bed lines and towels. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting at the apartment to explain equipment operations and to hand over keys. During your stay, we will be available to address any request/concern.

The bright, 160 m2 apartment is located on the 3rd floor (serviced by elevator) of an elegant building on the main avenue of Bologna’s historic district, and was fully renovated in February 2017 to ensure guests a pleasant stay in a comfortable and well-equipped environment. Every room is serviced by AC, next-generation windows are designed to maximize thermal and sound protection, and floors (even in the bathrooms) are covered in elegant white washed oak hardwood. Despite being located on the city’s main street, the apartment, given its location and being well insulated, is quiet and peaceful.

The property opens onto the living room overlooking Via Independenza through a scenic mullioned window, which allows you to stretch your view on the medieval architecture and typical terracotta rooftops of Bologna’s historic center. The living area is furnished with sectional sofa that includes a chaise longue facing the entertainment set, which accommodates a wall-mounted 42' flat screen TV. The wooden dining table is finished in wrought iron, comfortably accommodates 6 people and surmounted by 3 attractive asymmetrical chandeliers.

The large open kitchen is located just across the dining table and equipped with an island with stools, which can be used for breakfast or a quick lunch. The kitchen is fully equipped, and includes dishwasher, electric oven and large refrigerator with separate freezer. The walls are decorated with fancy damask motifs that enhance the elegance of the environment and create an imaginary divider between living room and kitchen.

The three bedrooms are located next to the living room, with each one including a comfortable bathroom with large glass walk-in shower, and fitted wardrobe. The washing machine is in a corner next to the kitchen. All the rooms of this modern apartment are generous in size and furnished with comfortable double beds.

In addition, the apartment is in a very convenient position from which Bologna’s monuments can be reached in less than 5 minutes on foot, and the city’s Fairgrounds and airport can be accessed by the numerous buses that pass right by the property. Finally, the train station is less than a 10-minute walk from the apartment.

Additional amenities: - air conditioning- boiler- hardwood flooring throughout the apartment- Next-generation windows and doors- Doorman on site until 12:30 p.m.

Area The apartment is located squarely in the center of the old medieval town. Via Indipendenza is the avenue leading to Piazza Maggiore, Bologna’s main square, which is surrounded by the city’s most important buildings. Palazzo Podestà is the oldest of them; it dates back to the year 1200 and is flanked by the Arengo Tower, whose tolling was once the call for Bologna’s residents to gather to the square. The nearby Palazzo Re Enzo is famous for its pedestrian crossroads, topped by a cross vault with special acoustic properties. Palazzo d’Accursio is a fourteenth-century architectural complex now serving as Bologna’s administrative seat. Palazzo Banchi marks the entrance to the city’s most famous portico, the Pavaglione, connecting Piazza Maggiore to the Archiginnasio, the first seat of the University of Bologna, the oldest in the world. The last side of the square is embellished by the Basilica of San Petronio, a specimen of Italian Gothic architecture, which began at the end of the fourteenth century and is still in progress. Today, the seat of the University is less than a 5-minute walk from the apartment, on Via Zamboni, where the Municipal Theatre is located, an artistic institution famous for its rich Opera season calendar. Among the city’s most interesting monuments surrounding the apartment, the best known are St. Stephen's Square (with the magnificent seven churches built top of each other and the wonderful Corte Isolani) and the Asinelli Tower, which leans suggestively towering over the Garisenda Tower. The Palazzo dei Banchi arcade lends one of its sides to form the so-called Quadrilateral of the Emilia region’s food and wine tradition: a true maze of pedestrian streets where visitors can find the region’s best delicacies (cold meats, fresh pasta, wine) and fresh local products (meat, fish, vegetables). In short, it is a real sanctuary for gourmands. Finally, shoppers can unwind along crowded Via Indipendenza, or in the haute-couture shops of Galleria Cavour, or the elegant boutiques on Via Farini and Via d'Azeglio.

Public transport:The apartment is located in a very strategic position, directly overlooking Via Independence, where guests can catch a variety of buses that can easily reach any point of the city, such as the Fairgrounds, the airport and the railway station (which, in any case, is less than a 10-minute walk away).

ParkingRestricted traffic area, which turns pedestrian during holidays. Possibility of parking in the adjacent Piazza VIII Agosto, at a cost of € 20 per day (24 hrs) or € 200 for monthly permits. We recommend guests to access the city center through via Irnerio, then turn onto Via Alessandrini until they reach the parking lot.

Information on Bologna’s traffic patterns: Visitors who stay for prolonged periods of time (more than 3 months), can request a permit to access Bologna’s historic center by car. For shorter stays, the City permits car access to the historic center only for 3 non-consecutive days per month, or for 4 consecutive days. Access is granted with tickets (€ 6,00) to be purchased at TPer distributors, located on: Via Marconi 4, at the corner with Via Lame, inside of the Via Indipendenza Bus Terminal. Tickets can be purchased at the Tobacco store located next to the Basilica of San Petronio, or at any Carrefour chain supermarket.

Important: guests are required to pay a city tax, not included in the price. The fee varies from 1.50 € to 5.00 € per person per night depending on the value of the booking. The city tax applies only to the first 5 nights.

Super ligging! Zéér centraal

  • 4 of 5
