Robins Cottage - a holiday cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
It was a dream of a flat. We immediately felt very comfortable.
Wendy is very helpful and very nice. We can very well imagine coming back.
If you are looking for peace, is right here.
Comfortable accommodation in great location
Very well equipped comfortable cottage in stunning location with panoramic views. It's in a peaceful village with a pub. Friendly owner, good garden space. We couldn't find any kitchen equipment it didn't have!
Comfortable, immaculate country accommodation
We were very pleased indeed with Robin Cottage. The accommodation was spacious, immaculate and very comfortable. Wendy had thoughtfully provided everything that was needed - including a welcoming bottle of wine! The kitchen in particular was extremely well equipped.
A bonus was the use of Wendy's delightful garden which wraps around her house and Robin Cottage. It was also good to have her on hand next door for any queries we had. The setting is delightfully rural with walks on the doorstep. We could not fault it.
Quality cottage in a lovely setting
Robin Cottage is well presented, immaculately clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, with thoughtful additional touches such as bedside radio, hair dryers, fresh flowers on arrival. Also clear and easy to follow instructions for equipment, heating etc. Wendy was a helpful yet unobtrusive host. The cottage has pretty gardens and views out onto a small wildlife pond and the estuary marshes. It is very peaceful. Photographs don't quite do it justice. Great place for a holiday with a dog, as the garden is enclosed and there are easy walks direct from the doorstep. The weather for our stay was not the best, so having such a warm and comfortable base was great. Lots of wonderful Cornish gardens within easy reach (we especially liked Trewithen).
Short stay at Robin Cottage
Excellent standard of cleanliness to this lovely bungalow. Very comfortable bed and kitchen really well equipped. Beautiful gardens and so good that they take dogs. Wendy the owner is lovely.
Beautiful, a perfect little holiday retreat
We had an excellent New Year break in this beautiful, quiet and unspoilt part of Cornwall. The cottage was really lovely - just perfect; it was comfortable, warm, cosy, well appointed - a real home from home. Excellent bathroom with generous shower, extremely comfortable bed, and conservatory for meals with a great view over the estuary. Wendy was a superb hostess - very kind, thoughtful, friendly, welcoming and so generous with a present in the fridge on arrival. It is a perfect place from which to explore the beautiful Roseland Peninsula - plenty of coastal walks, pretty villages, beaches close by, plenty of bird life and the village of Ruan Lanihorne is delightful. It is also absolutely brilliant that Wendy allows and welcomes dogs at the cottage - such a big bonus. Great pub just up the road too with a good menu. We can recommend this cottage as a wonderful holiday destination and we will certainly be back. Thank you.
Ruan Lanihorne is a charming village with an historic church dating from the 14th Century and a superb pub - the King's Head. The area is truly beautiful countryside. Venture across Sett Bridge towards the magnificent Lamorran Woods and you will undoubtedly see an abundance of wildlife with waders and waterfowl inhabiting the tidal marshes. It is a haven for those wanting to explore and get off the beaten track, yet within easy reach of many attractions. An adventurous ride through the woods and you are awarded the delights of Tregothnan Estate, home to the Boscawen family since 1335, complete with teas and honey made on the Estate. Nearby Fentongollan Farm producing module vegetable plants and a fabulous collection of cornish daffodil bulbs.
There is an excellent pub at the nearby village of Philleigh, The Roseland Inn which serves good food. There are also pubs in Veryan, Portloe, Portscatho & St Mawes. There are general stores available at Portscatho, Tregony & Veryan. St Mawes has a wider selection of services. The city of Truro is about a 25 minute drive and has some superb shopping. There are fine dining restaurants in nearby hotels such as the Driftwood Hotel at Rosevine and the Tresanton at St Mawes. The beaches of Pendower, Carne & Porthcurnick are all within a 10 minute drive. The Roseland has some wonderful gardens to visit and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 20 minutes away. There are miles of spectacular coastline to discover along the South West Coast Path.
