We are a family of four. We have been coming to Nerja for many years and in 2011, we decided to buy our own apartment. When we first viewed the apartment we were on holiday and viewed it a bit through rose-tinted glasses. It was only when we returned in February once we had actually bought it that we realised that it needed total refurbishment so we bit the bullet and did it all at once; new kitchen, bathroom, terrace and furniture. Looking back this was definitely the right thing to do as results speak for themselves. We have never wanted to go and stay on holiday anywhere that is less comfortable than our own home and we don't think that our guests should have to put up with poor quality furnishings and electrical goods. So, we have fitted the kitchen out with lots of crockery, mixing bowls and utensils etc. We like to cook good local Spanish produce and hope you will too.

Why John Cole chose Chimenea
We looked at several properties on Capistrano Play but this was far and away the best. It sits in the middle of the development overlooking the pond with great views of the Mediterranean. In addition, unlike most apartments in Capistrano Playa, the living area is separated from the bedrooms which is much nicer. Also, the apartment sits in the middle of the development and is more like a townhouse than an apartment. It has a terrific terrace which get the sun all day. Being on the top floor means you get no noise from above and very little noise from below. Our charming Dutch neighbours who live below generally only use their apartment in the winter so we have a lot of privacy.
What makes this Apartment unique
We originally only had air-conditioning in the bedrooms but this winter we have installed an additional unit in the living room. This is reverse cycle so you can use it for heating in the winter as well as cooling in the summer. We have fibre optic superfast (for Spain!) broadband, its prety robust and reasnavly fast. Stayed in this property a number of times now. It’s modern and well equipped, but it’s the stunning views from spacious balcony that we love the most. Great location, short walk down to the beach through the lovely gardens and lots of nice bars and restaurants close by.

An outstanding apartment with impressive views in a perfect location
We arrived late evening to the apartment it was spotlessly clean. Situated on the side of a crescent shaped hill with a incredible views of the sea. A short walk down to the beach reveals many shops and restaurants on 2 levels. On the beach itself there are several areas with managed loungers and umbrellas, some shade is very welcome on those hot days. Restaurants at the beach offer a variety of food to suit and taste and they are reasonably priced.
For the days when we planned to head out to do some sightseeing, the apartment is well positioned near the main arterial road running along the south coast. It is just a short drive into Nerja town where there are many shops and some wonderful restaurants. Well worth planning an evening or two at the Balcon de Europa in Nerja town, very busy and buzzy.
We also had a couple of quiet evenings eating at the apartment, locally there are some impressive well stocked supermarkets one has a fabulous fish counter. The kitchen is well appointed and easy to use, so too the barbi on the terrace. Very pleased to find a dishwasher, saving lots time doing the washing up.
There is WiFI and cable TV in the apartment so it is possible to keep up to date with folks back home.
We are looking forward to a return trip, I can thoroughly recommend Casa Bengeo.
Absolutely Perfect in all aspects from the apartment,location and interaction with John the owner
This is our 6th visit to Nerja and by far our best. The apartment is perfect, as previous reviews had stated a home from home in all aspects. The outside balcony and space is the highlight brilliant views and perfect for relaxing with a cold beer or wine and BBQ. Having stayed Nerja previously location is perfect easy access to Burriana beach even the steps up and down you get used to and walk into Town is straight forward just suggest a pit stop for a quick drink on route to keep you refreshed!! John the owner was brilliant, quick to respond back on any enquiries and very accomodating. In summary easily 5 star’s will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and family.
Fabulous holiday apartment!
This apartment really is a home from home, it is fantastically equipped and the view from the terrace is so wonderful.
The apartment is perfectly located for easy access to the beach or a leisurely stroll in the town.
If you like to relax and do your own thing still feeling as comfortable as if you are in your own home we would recommend this property, we even had a day we didn’t even go out but relaxed on the terrace!!
Definitely on our list for a future visit and the only place I would stay if returning to Nerja.

Nerja is on the Mediterranean coast some 50 kilometres from Málaga on the N340 coastal highway, in a hire car it should take less than one hour from the airport on a modern motorway. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town now has a population of over 22,000. Nerja boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing, tennis and there is a golf course (Burriana Golf) less than 15 minutes away. The town is flanked to the east by the beautiful, dramatic, mountain range, Sierra Almijara. The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums, on which a canary can sometimes be heard singing.
