Blossom View Cottages
About Blossom View Cottages
We used to visit Ashland for Shakespeare Festival and fell in love with this charming, quaint town. Eventually, we decided to call Ashland our home. Like many residents of this lovely town, we continue to be enchanted by Ashland.
Blossom View Cottages purchased this House in 2015
Why Blossom View Cottages chose Historic Railroad District
The original house on the property, Victorian Rose, is on the Register of Historic Places. The house was built in 1901 and was lovingly renovated in 2015. The second house on the property , Blue Hyacinth, was a latter addition but shares the characteristics of the older homes prevalent around Ashland. We love the location in the very popular Railroad District - its proximity to OSF, the stores in downtown and the restaurants and galleries on A Street.
What makes this House unique
Luxury, Comfort, Location - WOW! The cottages are located in a residential neighborhood yet are within three blocks to downtown. The Food Co-Op is two short blocks away and A-Street is half a block away. Park your car on the property and walk to the theater and other local interests. Each cottage has a porch, so you can enjoy wine/coffee in private or walk a few steps to the cafes and restaurants and mingle with the locals. A famous local coffee shop and a landmark, popular restaurant are literally in our backyard!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Nice little yard, indoors sparkling clean and updated. My only complaint would be that there aren't enough pots and pans.
A Pleasant Stay
Charming house and yard. Could use more lighting for reading.
Comfortable home that accommodated our party of 5. Enjoyed that we were walking distance to downtown. Parking space off alley was tight if a car was in the space next to it. Bathrooms updated nicely and showers were great. Having access to WiFi was great.
Master bath is cramped and kitchen needs more supplies. Otherwise, great!
Cozy cottage perfect for weekend stay!
My husband, 7 year old son, and my parents stayed in the Victorian Rose cottage for a weekend and it was perfect. The kitchen is small but had most of what we needed (only small frying pans, however) and the living space was comfortable. The beds were firm, linens and towels were nice, and the area was quiet. There was an air mattress in one of the bedrooms and we ended up partially inflating it and making a nest for our son in the large, open closet (the third bed is the pull-out sofa in the living room). The cottage is a short walk to the center of town and theaters. The front porch and back patio are lovely for morning coffee.
This is a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood. Close to EVERYTHING - we walked to the theaters, food, shopping, and discovered some very awesome off-main-street type of artisan shops. The house was super clean, wonderfully outfitted and simply delightful.
Within three blocks to downtown and theaters. Popular restaurants, coffee shops, Food Co-op less than two blocks away.
