This place has the "WOW" factor!
This place exceeded our expectations! There were 7 of us staying there for 5 nights! Wonderful place to come "home" to after a day out and about discovering the surrounding areas. We loved the clean swimming-pool, the terraced patio, the separate large laundry room, the studio with a shower and the main house. There is also parking inside the gate for 3 cars. The grocery store and bakery are located an easy 10 minute walk from the house. We cannot say enough good things about this "home away from home!"
Perfect base for exploring Sintra historic sites, countryside and beaches
This is a spacious, well-maintained and immaculately presented property. Well-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities make it ideal for those planning a longer stay. The house is in a quiet location, but just a five minute walk from restaurants , cafe and supermarkets in Colares, and a short drive from the coast. It's also easy to get into the historic sites in Sintra (though driving in Sintra isn't easy - the bus is better!) and surrounding locations - the park and Palacio de Monserrate are very close, and wonderful to visit. Overall, strongly recommended!
The property was absolutely first-class and Mafalda was a superb host.
The property is very well appointed and all the equipment was excellent we didn't need anything that wasn't included.
The location is very good with easy walking access to the village of Colares and the beaches and other attractions within close driving distance.
The pool and d terraces were very well maintained.
Excellent location for relaxing days
Wonderful luxurous villa in a nice town close to beautiful beaches.
Our visit in Colares was awesome. The location with a couple grocery stores and bakery within walking distance. The property was well maintained and spotless. We would recommend this place to all our friends. Hope to come back again. Sintra is such a beautiful area with plenty to see.
Cabo da Roca is the most westerly point in Europe and has magnificent views, is nearby. The coast to the north of Cabo da Roca has dramatic cliffs interspersed with rocky beaches and the natural environment is still absolutely unspoiled.
Go inland and enjoy the wonderful scenery and rural lifestyle in villages nearby
Monserrate palace and Gardens: A romantic, historic and exotic Garden with a unique collection of tropical plants and trees. The house is a mixture of Gothic, Moorish and Oriental fantasy. Gardens are open every day of the week from 10:00 to 18:00
There is a pleasant tea room.
Pena Palace at the top of Sintra hills – avoid going on weekends because it is very crowded. Beautiful views. Also has a restaurant.
Vila Palace in the middle of the Sintra historic village with two very tall chimneys. Also try to go during the week.
Capuchos Convent (Cork Convent) is on the road to Cascais just after Almoçageme, turn left and follow signs to Capuchos. Has good souvenir shop. Children especially enjoy the narrow corridors, tiny cells and cork clad doors.
Estoril and Cascais coast is at within easy reach.
Guincho beach with its large dunes exposed to the wind and waves of the east coast. It is a major venue in both the European and the World Surfing and Windsurfing Championships.
There are many excellent fish and seafood restaurants nearby.
