Lovely 2 bed apart (WiFi + A/C ) & small garden/terrace 8 min walk from beach

PROPERTY DETAILS

Wifi included and a small garden, but at an affordable price. Set in a peaceful little street and ideal for young families as well as for a romantic break for two, or the golf enthusiast. The apartment comprises of 2 bedrooms, living/dining area, well equipped fully fitted kitchen. We have a private garden/terrace which is completely safe for children to play in as there is no 'escape' to the road. We enjoy the sun from morning until evening. There is always a place of shade to be found and our apartment remains cool at all times.

The entrance to the apartment is gated and the garden/terrace is walled. All windows have electric shutters.

We share the pool with 7 other apartments, but only 3 apartments are being rent out, so you are likely to have the pool all to yourselves.

The main bedroom has a double bed with en-suite shower room/toilet and patio doors which lead out to a private terrace/garden, complete with garden furniture.

The second bedroom has two single beds, with patio doors opening onto a balcony. Both rooms have spacious fitted double wardrobes. There is a separate master bathroom with bath/jacuzzi and toilet and bidet.

The living/dining area comfortably seats four people with digital/cable TV . There is a gated quiet communal pool just 20 paces away shared only with the other 6 apartments in our complex.

The apartment is interestingly build, as we have our garden/terrace on the ground floor, but the rear of the apartment is on the first floor.

Digital/Cable TV with most English channels. There is an iPod connection for the sound system in the bedrooms and kitchen. Do take you own connector with you.

Ample car parking outside, electric shutters and video entry for complete security and peace of mind. You can enter the internal parking place, but have to do control the doors manually from inside the garage.

The apartment is about an 8 minute walk away from the sandy (Blue Flag) beach of Porto do Mos, with two bar/restaurants on the beach, with both inside and terraced seating, ideal for meals or just a drink. The famous Praia Dona Ana beach is about 2 km away. The Punta de Piedade Beach is close-by and is absolutely gorgeous and seems untouched even though it is surrounded by urban neighbourhoods. It is one of the most frequented beaches in Lagos.

Things to Do: Things to do:

Lagos has a marina that arranges daily boat trips to see the dolphins and deep sea fishing, or to visit the grottos. There are several water parks within a short drive, one called Zoo Marine which has dolphins and for an extra charge you can swim amongst them. The centre of Lagos has an open market 6 days a week, plenty of restaurants offering freshly caught fish and a vast array of other dishes from around the world. The city with its colourful market squares has plenty of shops and supermarkets within its narrow cobbled streets. Motor racing entertainment at the Autodromo Algarve.

Children activities:

As well as the golden sandy Porto do Mos beach, there are a variety of water parks and theme parks within a 30 minute drive. Horse riding, cycling, walking, canoeing/paddle boats.

The Algarve/West Algarve region: There are many sandy beaches to be found around the Algarve coast . The sea temperature is often surprisingly warm sometimes even during the winter months. Located on the southern tip of Europe with the vast ocean of the Atlantic in the south and west border, this desirable position provides the south of Portugal with one of the most unpolluted climates in the European continent.

In January and February the coast is covered with white almond blossom shading the many varieties of wild orchids. In March, the exhilarating perfume of orange blossom mixes with the bloom of acacias. During the month of April the abundant wild flowers give cause to the enchanting sound of the many colourful birds. May and June is the time to see the raw beauty of the striking bare barks of stripped cork trees in contrast to the palette purple of the jacaranda. July is the time of of the wonderful fruits like cherries, strawberries and melons. August and September gives grapes, figs and almonds.

Until 2000 I had never been in Portugal, as I dreaded the stories I heard from Spain and I thought both countries would be similar holiday wise. I have now seen both countries and there is no comparison. Spain busy, Portugal relaxing. People are relaxed, patient and enjoy the tourists. I have bought the place as an investment, but enjoy the little time I can spend in the apartment as well, as I will go there before and after the rental season, just to check that everything is as think it should be. If I rent it out, I want people to be happy.

Why Yvonne Stead chose Lagos Town

This apartment is just off the beaten track of Lagos. We are close to the beach and you could either stay on the beach all day and eat at the 2 beach side restaurants, or take go to Lagos which is a really authentic Portuguese town. You will be totally relaxed after staying here. Our property is one of the few affordable apartments with a small garden. Our swimming pool is just outside the front door and 1 min walk to the left. Whatever temperature outside, our apartment never gets hot and there is ample shade on the garden. Should you really wish to cool down more, then you can sit at the 2 balconies at the rear.

What makes this apartment unique

The benefit of this apartment is clearly that we have a small garden. There is nothing worse than having a small balcony where you in a U-shape apartment block where all you movements could be watched by other holiday makers and where you constantly have move around your chair to get the sun. The sun comes up in the garden in the morning and goes down there in the evening. It is a lovely apartment which I think you will enjoy as well.

The coastline from Lagos to Sagres and then up to the Costa Vicentina is amazing.



The apartment it's simply perfect, we found everything we needed.

We also enjoyed the swimming pool....very relaxing after a day of walking , swimming or kayaking on the beaches.



Sylvester (property manager)was very helpful to describe the house and how to use household appliances, TV set, etc, ....



I really don't have any negative comments!

We would have liked to stay longer..... but work and school are back again!

Family Holiday for 4 (2 boys aged 20 and 19) Holiday review. Porto de Mos

We wanted a nice get away from it all break for 10 days in June 2016 with our Boys who had finished their studies for the year. With flights booked (TIP: Monarch were excellent and equivalent price of other renowned cheaper airlines) Searched on line (lots and lots!) and came up with this lovely Apartment in Porto De Mos. 1 hr drive from the Airport, but took us nearly 3 as we got lost (Wife blamed me, which was ok as it was my fault entirely for not reading the easy instructions Yvonne sent me) and we stopped off at the Intermarche for refreshments (some food and loads of beer!) . Sylvester, who greeted us was none too happy as he had 101 things to do, but all good and he showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment, and gave us some great advice about the area. It is in a great location to really chill out. Very quiet, with a lovely large sandy beach, 2 excellent beach bar/restaurants, with great priced food and drinks, which was approx. 10 mins away from the apartment. The apartment was really spacious, and so cool, we did not really need the AC on. It is superbly decorated and furnished, and the beds were a dream, and the kitchen was good will all the mod cons of home available to use, including a Dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, iron and ironing board, large fridge with freezer, oven, microwave..... basically everything we could have needed. The apartment had a nice balcony, and a perfect, well kept garden with sunbeds, table and chairs, and 20 mts away was a shared pool, which was hardly in use by others in our block, so virtually exclusive to us. The local area was very quiet (which is great for a good nights sleep), but not lots else to do or places to go in the local area, but Lagos was buzzing with bars, shops, restaurants, Marina with various boat trips. Lagos was only a 10 min drive away (25 mins walk) and Taxis were plentiful and very reasonably priced. There are a few Supermarkets within a short drive, although it was a 20 min walk. We had many visits to Lidl, so it was like home from home. Luz is only a short drive away too. A car is highly recommended for transfers and explore the beautiful Algarve. Owner Yvonne was easy to deal with and sent great and timely communications. Apartment is highly recommended we loved every minute. Thanks Yvonne, and a special mention to the very patient Sylvester. Only 1 negative, Larger bath towels please. We definitely go back. Thanks again, Gary and Family

Get Used to Good Things......

We made up our mind to come back to West Algarve coast again this year, and when considering the location with no hesitation decided to pick up our last year's choice - a lovely apartment in Lagos / Porto Mos.

As a result, this time it was even better, starting from great support the owner had provided before our arrival (visa support for family members, general advices and overall communication) as well as the service which was provided by the service company whthroughout the whole stay, easiness in operating domestically at the place (you know how all things work and everything is in good condition) and finally wonderful weather, great beaches around and nice water. Not least to mention kindness of Portugal and its people, English well spoken and reasonable prices compared to Italy/France and even Spain. Worth to say that we used to spent two days in the shopping - Aqua Shopping mall (Portimao), is highly recommended when you have a not-for-beach weather.

Summary, people normally get used to good things and I'm not the exception. Will not hesitate again to choose this apartment if we are back to West Algarve.....

Immaculate modern property close to great beach.

Yvonne the owner has been extremely helpful throughout the process of booking her apartment with her communications quick in response to emails, informative and helpful making organising things much easier. We were able to book a pick up and drop off at the airport through Yvonne with advice about car hire if we needed it.

The description of the apartment is very accurate and it was very clean and extremely well maintained. Please note that you should buy all basics e.g. salt, pepper, sugar, washing up liquid, bin bags etc as while there might be a few leftovers (dishwasher tabs/liquid) we needed to get the basics. The only aspect of the apartment that we didn't really use was the pool partly because it is actually down on the same street so you have to exit the apartment and walk 10 metres which means you need to take the things you need with you including the sun lounger cushions with you to use the loungers for the apartment which are locked together here. The pool is mall but nice with a small accompanying jacuzzi but there is no shade here and with such a nice beach nearby there was little attraction to use the pool.

It is a very easy place to stay and importantly quick and easy to get to the the beach making it great if like us you don't hire a car and have a beach centred holiday. The beach is well set up and the beach and water both very clean and great for small children with a nice shallow incline. Two good restaurants open all day servicing the beach meaning that you can easily hang out from morning to evening and if you take one of the hired loungers you have shade and someone serving drinks and snacks directly to you.

Lagos is a short ride away if you want bars, shops and restaurants and other sea excursions and trips. We walked there in half an hour very easily. There is a large supermarket nearer to the apartment but still a drive away if you want to get anything substantial but there are no small shops around the area in close walking distance so we relied on the two beach bars/restaurants which were not expensive but had everything from basic sandwiches through to great seafood.

We would really recommend the apartment and for our first holiday without a car it worked for a week but for longer a car is recommended.

As a courtesy to our guests, we always start off the new season with all basics in the apartment and most guests do kindly replace what they use, but it seems that this does not always happen. Unlike some of the more expensive villa's, we do not have a swimming pool attached to our property and we function like any other hotel with a pool on the small complex which means you will have to bring your own towels etc. However, I will check with our manager to see why our sun lounge cushions were not with the loungers as they should be. As you correctly identified and as per my advice to you, I always encourage people to hire a car. Although we are on the border of Lagos, we are at the less touristy side of the town, hence we are not overwelmed with shops. I am however very pleased that you have enjoyed a good holiday.

Lovely stay - would definitely return

My family and I had a great time in Portugal and loved the property. Yvonne was very accommodating when we had to add an extra day at the last minute. The property is well maintained, cleaned but the best part is the location! Less than 10 minute walk to the beach which was beautiful. The beach also has 2 restaurants and a snack bar that were very convenient. The property is exactly as it is represented in the photos so there were no unpleasant surprises.

There is a grocery store very close by. One the first day, we walked to the grocery store. It took probably 15-20 min so its not too far however it is not flat terrain so can get very hot walking in the heat with grocery bags. We rented a car on our trip and the store was less than 5 minutes drive.

As we had a car, we drove almost every night into town of Lagos so I am not sure how much a cab would cost but it was no more than a 5 - 10 minute drive. The town is great, plenty of restaurants, stores, and nightly activities.

Overall, we would definitely recommend this property to anybody that wants to be walking distance to a beach but also relatively close to restaurants and other attractions.

Historic Lagos with its cobbled side-walks and colourful market square, is without doubt the most interesting town in the Algarve and is the nearest town at 5-10 minutes walking distance, but is literally minutes away by car. The town boasts a beautiful marina which has been built within the last 10 years and is a wonderful place for 'people watching' with many restaurants and bars looking out over the marina. Whatever you want, relaxing or clubbing, it is there to be enjoyed.

Lagos also boasts the most magnificent beaches and the harbour is rich in history. The town has museums and a gallery with many shops to browse around. The main town also has many different restaurants and is the hive of activity at lunch times and in the evenings. The town also 2 daily fresh food markets (fish, meat, vegetables and fruit), 4 main supermarkets and plenty of interesting shops and restaurants.
