This property is perfect for relaxing and culture submersion.
The house is a rustic farmhouse complete with onsite hot springs that feed the spa, soothing waterfalls that ease the mind and horses that warm the heart. Arnor and Anna are wonderful hosts that are super helpful and genuinely good people. I would definitely stay here again. Maybe next time I will bring the whole family instead of just my husband and myself. Make sure to leave yourself with enough time, as things of interest can be a fair drive away. You can explore points of interest from here or just explore the property.
It was very nice meeting Tina and Sean
They took good care of our property and treated it as it was their own.
Can easily recommend these very nice couple.
Get away from everything
We have stayed in homes and condos all over the world and found this place to be one of the most charming (and well-stocked!) The owners are very kind and responsive. They tell you not to buy bottled water and they aren't kidding - I'm going to be missing the fresh spring "tap" water there for a long time. While it's a bit of a drive from everywhere, the view of the night sky, with every star visible to the naked eye, makes it all worth it. Cozy heated floors and soft bedding. We slept well every night in the fresh air. Note that there is a Costco on the way from the Reykjavik airport and you will want to bring your card and stock up since the closest grocery store is about 30 minutes away. If this is your first time in Iceland and you want to see the whole country, note that it is a very long drive to everywhere, and you may want to split up your stay in different regions. That said, this place was such a perfect home base towards the middle of everything. There is a clothes washer but no dryer (though the drying rack provided is very convenient, and the warm bathroom dries clothes quickly) and no hair dryer, so if you have a European model bring it with you, as I went to purchase one with the intention of leaving it at the house and a "bargain" model was $45! Plenty of towels, linens, cleaning supplies, etc. Cooking supplies like salt and pepper and oil were already there. We saved a lot of money cooking almost all of our own food and bringing sandwiches on road trips. Charming horses and the chance to stay on a real working farm. Absolutely dark and silent at night (except for the wind, occasionally) so you will sleep well! Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation!
Thank you Janessa and family for taken such good care of my house.
I am very glad that you where so pleased about your stay. Thank you for the pillows you left in the house :)
I can easily recommend Janessa and her family. All our communications were easy and pleasant.
They took good care of my property and cared for it as it was their own.
Worst place I have ever seen
This was not as described. It was so shocking when we drove up we contacted the owner immediately. We notified her we just could not stay in this place. We asked her for a refund for the 4 days we booked and her response was there would be no refunds. We had to then go find alternate accommodation after the long flight and the drive up to the property, which was not easy to find, plus the road into it was a dirt road that was full of potholes. The whole experience was stressful not what we expected to deal with. We have notified VRBO and our credit card company as we feel this was a total scam. This property was not at all as described and should not be a part of any rental property it is a complete mess. The door would not even re-lock after we opened it to look inside the place, so not sure how we where expected stay or to put our belongings safely inside this place. Just appallingly. If we could post the pictures we took we would. These people should be ashamed of themselves as tourists it has not left a very good taste for Iceland at this point. If we could we would give minus 5 stars. Don’t even want to give one star but must do that to submit review......
Great place! Very spacious and comfortable!
Beautiful surroundings. Lots of places to explore on the property. We enjoyed the hot tub each day after a long day of hiking. We enjoyed cooking dinner each night. The washing machine was a nice surprise. WiFi was great. Overall a great experience! We would definitely stay here again.
Fun pretty location
My daughter and I loved staying at the house,! We liked the pretty location. The house is nicely equipped with things you may need. Hot tub was a nice plus after long days of hiking
Charming home on a beautiful property
Cozy, clean and comfortable home with all the necessities and cute décor. The owners were extremely friendly. They came to greet us when we arrived and gave some tips on what to do in the area. There is a short hike to a waterfall right from the house, outdoor tub with natural hot spring water, beautiful garden and horses, so you can actually spend a pleasant and quiet day right there.
