We were unable to enter home as passcode did not work. We had to book 3 hotel rooms at 4 times the cost. Owner was not helpful and rude is some ways. He actually text that he couldn’t help it if we did not know how to use code. Worst experience to date.
Guest was impatient, nasty and rude when I called her to assist with a problem she was having entering the keypad code. I have hosted over one hundred families successfully. Never dealt with someone so sour. Apparently one other host already rejected her, as I was the second host she attempted to book. Her payment card was rejected twice, which is a red flag for any host. Yet I patiently worked through it with her. She was sugary sweet during this time. She was staying with her son in town already, so not being to operate the code immediately wasn't a huge inconvenience in the moment. Of course it is not a nice feeling to be "locked out" and would not want someone to feel unwelcome. However the code worked for three previous VRBO guests. So her inability to use the code was a problem I couldn't control. I called her within a reasonable period of time to offer assistance, as I have a key for this kind of problem. She was dismissive and told me to cancel the house and refund the money. Her hotel booking problems and her dismissive nature were all of her own making. Had she reciprocated the same flexibility she was extended with the payment problems, she would have been in the home a short time after the scheduled checkin.. I attempted to be positive and helpful with her at all times. She is not a nice person. She is the worst VRBO guest I have "attempted" to host.
Golf course living in central Phoenix? Yes!
Comfortable, spacious and quiet, this mid century modern home is great for visiting Phoenix. Eclectic mix of 20th and 21st century living. We came for spring training with family and found it central to all ballparks.
Thank you for the nice review, Paul! Please come back again!
House was clean, had everything you needed and was in a great location.
Thank you Jennifer!
This home was a perfect stay for our trip to Arizona .
Conveniently located close to downtown and located on a golf course with enough space to get things done. We were able to get what we needed out of this modern style home. We had a successful weekend with the offers of this home.
Thank you for staying!
Clean and spacious.
Would definitely stay again!
Thank you Vanessa!
Peacefull property adjacent to Encanto Golf Course
Enjoyed our stay at Encanto Vistas. Property is adjacent to Encanto golf course. It is a wonderful place to walk everyday. The signs state to watch for golfers, flying golf balls, etc. We walked the perimeter daily and the golfers were never an issue for us.
Property has a nice long drive-way and unloading our vehicle was easy in the back. Be sure to take a flashlight if you will be arriving after dark, otherwise you will not be able to see the keypad on the front door, as the numbers are not raised.
Kitchen is well stocked with utensils, flatware, plates, bowls, glasses. It was so worth while for us to have a kitchen with a nice gas range/oven and full-sized refrigerator. We made every meal there except one. We were in town for my sister's heart surgery.
House is vintage, over 70-years old but well maintained. Bathrooms are red tile or blue tile and in very good repair. Plenty of room with 3 bedrooms. One bedroom is set-up with bunk beds, obviously for families traveling with children. We did not use that. Be aware of the uneven floor height in the game room leading to living room and bedrooms.
The heating/cooling system is called "NEST". Not something we were familiar with and temperature was not adjustable unless you went on-line and logged-in. However, the instructions state "do not change internal temperature" and we did not, despite being chilly a few times. We were there during a cool rainy period. (Odd for Phoenix)
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if house is available. It's amazing that it can be so quiet at that house in such a large noisy city.
Ann, great to have you and thank you for the kind review. Small confusion on the Nest, we ask guests not to change the internal settings, but the temperature is all yours! Crank up the heat! Sounds like front porch lighting needs a bulb. Thanks for the feedback!
Encanto Golf Course was built in 1935 by William F. Bell and holds the distinction of being the third-oldest golf course in Arizona. Located in the core of the Historic District, the 18-hole, championship golf course sports a relaxed atmosphere enhanced by the abundance of mature palm and salt cedar trees, plus some spectacular views of downtown Phoenix. Encanto also features a nine-hole executive golf course just a block away. The golf course includes a driving range and practice green.
