About the property

Charming, contemporary, main door townhouse set out over three floors.

The conversion has been cleverly done using wood and wrought iron to create a comfortable home within a building of much history and character.

The brewery's original hillside garden remains; it is private and secluded with incomparable views over Edinburgh's skyline (Holyrood Park, Arthur's Seat, The Parliament, Holyrood Palace and The Roofs of the Old Town). It's a great retreat for a relaxing cup of coffee or a glass of wine on a summer's evening.

The courtyard is gated with your allocated parking space.

Gas central heating throughout.

Ground floor - hallway, shower-room with sink and WC, TV Snug with comfortable sofa bed (would suit two small children or one adult, two at a push!).

Middle floor- Large open plan kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob, washing machine, fridge, freezer and microwave, dining area and sitting area.

Top floor - king-size bed, floor to ceiling wardrobes and en-suite shower room with WC and sink.

Guests will have full access to the entire property, the shared garden and the allocated car parking.

The old town of Edinburgh is a Unesco World Heritage Site home to Edinburgh Castle (20 minute walk), Holyrood Palace (5 minute walk), The Royal Mile (5 minute walk) and your Townhouse Residence!

It becomes one of the main hubs for the festival and fringe performances and brims with shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.

All the main sights and facilities are within easy walking distance but

guests will have sole use of an allocated parking space and day trips to the beaches of East Lothian or St Andrews are recommended if you have time.

Waverley train station and the airport bus terminus is a 10 minute walk.

York Place tram terminus serving Edinburgh Airport is around a 15 minute walk.

Edinburgh is served by an excellent bus service.

About Craig

Runner, gin drinker and newly found Sushi enthusiast. Although rare for me to do all at the same time!

Love travelling and travellers from all parts of the globe. Favourite memory so far has been camping under the frosty stars in the Torres Del Paine National Park in Patagonia, South America. The views of the snow capped mountains I awoke to has stayed with me ever since.

Craig purchased this house in 2008

Why Craig chose Old Town

We fell in love with this home the moment we set our eyes on it. We viewed it on the Sunday and our offer was accepted on the Tuesday (beating ten other interested parties!)

When you stay here you will understand why we fell for it too!

A Gem

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at this house and found it well equipped, comfortable and in a great location for us. The kitchen was well stocked with essential implements that you need for self catering but wouldn't think to take with you. The owner was very friendly and responsive during the booking process and in providing access details, which made the whole process so much easier. One issue worth mentioning is that it is a three storey town house and has stairs commensurate with that configuration; this was not a problem for us but it is something that potential renters should bear in mind. We would be more than happy to stay here again on our next trip to Edinburgh; as above, a little gem.

Brilliant house, very well equipped and in a great location for all sightseeing in Edinburgh.

  • 5 of 5

We were only able to spend 3 days in Edinburgh but this property is in such a great location and has everything you need and more for a short stay, although we could easily have much longer as the house was so comfortable, modern and stylish. Lovely bathrooms with great showers - a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed etc. Restaurants, shops etc all very close. Would definitely go back again when we next visit Edinburgh.
