A great cottage which was well equipped in a fantastic location. The beach is a must along with the coastal walk to St Abbs.
A wondetfully relaxing getaway
My partner and I were looking for a gorgeous, peaceful holiday home to stay for a week and relax after both being busy with work, and Thornbank Cottage provided this and more. Located in a friendly Scottish village, the beautifully kept home proved to be the perfect place to recharge. Checking in and out couldn't have been easier, and Milda was a wonderful host, providing us with a wealth of information on places to visit, eat and drink nearby.
There's plenty to do beyond the village, with walks, castles, beaches and towns all within easy driving distance. In fact, myself and my partner got engaged at Tantallon Castle nearby before driving to Edinburgh for an evening.
Thornbank Cottage provided exactly what we needed, and I would recommend staying at the propery in a heartbeat.
A very comfortable cottage.A well equipped kitchen and pleasant sitting room and conservatory. The cottage is well presented and we will certainly book to return soon.
Everything was perfect, could not reccomend enough
Thank you so much for the review. Delighted Thornbank Cottage was perfect and I hope that contributed to you having a lovely break.
Many thanks again
Great Cottage with everything you need
We had an excellent stay in May half, the cottage is in an excellent location for exploring Northumbria and Scotland (we went to Bamburgh, Berwick, Edinburgh on the train, Alnwick gardens and Holy Island). The cottage was lovely and so well stocked with everything you need, we really appreciated the kids plates and bowls etc. We would definitely stay again.
Great property, home from home
I booked this house for my mums 70th birthday as a gift for the parents to get away as it was a location mum visited as a child. They loved it. Feedback was that it was very well equipped and very comfortable. Just a short work to the beach and local shops. A really relaxing week away.
The owner was great at communication from the start and my parents will be rebooking for next year.
Thanks for making a special birthday have some special memories.
Hi - delighted that your parents enjoyed their celebrations at Thornbank Cottage. It's such a pleasure to hear that they had a lovely time.
It will be great to welcome them back.
Thanks so much for the review.
Coldingham grew up around the 12th Century Priory and is one of the prettiest villages in Scotland. Within a few minutes’ walk from the cottage are two friendly pubs. The village also has a café, a Spar convenience store, a butchers and post office with tourist information facilities. About a mile from the cottage is Coldingham Bay, which is well known for its surfing. From there walkers can join the Berwickshire Coast Path and the John Muir Way. Also close by is the port of St Abbs, a haven for diving, sea-fishing, boating and bird watching. Near to Coldingham is the beautiful Berwickshire coast and Scottish Borders for historic sightseeing, world famous golf courses and salmon and trout fishing. Finally, Edinburgh is only an hour away!
