The Hanover House is very typical of this area where there are many brightly coloured houses creating rainbows on every street! This area is very popular with Brighton's Artistic & Vegetarians which is why Hanover has the nick name of Muesli Mountain!

The House is very close to The newly redeveloped park (The Level) where many famous Brighton events are held. The park has just had £2 million spent on redeveloping and has a great kids play area, skaters ramps, The Velo Cafe and lots more! The area is located just a couple of minutes walk to the Laines where all the Bohemian shops are cafes are located. Its also within easy reach of Brighton train station, supermarkets and restaurants.

The Lounge/ Diner/ Kitchen

Is open plan with a 38 inch flat screen Sky+ TV and DVD player. There is a sofa bed which is very easy to set up for the 5th person and a large dining table.

We have a cot and high chair for babies and toddlers.

The Kitchen

Is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, ceramic hob, oven and everything else you need for self catering.

If you're not intending on cooking there there are loads of restaurants near by which we are happy to recommend if you have trouble choosing.

Bathrooms- We have 2 toilets one downstairs and one bathroom on the top floor with combined shower and bath.

The neighbourhood

The London road has a large Aldi or Co-Op supermarket or you will find smaller shops and places to eat on the Lewes road. London road is in the middle of a redevelopment scheme and towards Preston park there are lots of excellent new bars and places to eat opening. I particularly love Hare and Hounds pub on Preston Circus serving La Chosa Mexican street food, with outdoor heated cabins. Yum! Check out The Flour Pot on Elm Grove, 2 mins walk from the house. It's Brighton's best bakers and coffee, Turn right and walk up the hill 2 streets.

Brighton is considered very bohemian and boasts a very diverse community with large student population and vibrant gay scene. Throughout the year the city is buzzing and there are many famous events such as the Brighton comedy, fringe, music, food and pride festivals. Brighton also has some of the best street art in the country and you'll find a few original Banky's dotted about. We are also just a 55 minutes train ride from London.

The city has many exciting attractions such as the Pavilion, Galleries, Museums, Theaters, Comedy Clubs, Nightlife, Restaurants and so much more.

If you like shopping Brighton is also famous for the Laines which has many boutiques style shops, cafes and restaurants where you will see many of the diverse mix of Brighton people hanging out and soaking up the unique atmosphere. Every year the city is growing and becoming more popular with so many things to do. There are also the beautiful Downs and country parks are great for a hike or long walks to a pub lunch or cream tea.

Getting around

If you need the bus the 22 goes from Brighton station towards Woddingdean. A taxi is about £5 from Brighton station to the house. Everywhere is within walking distance. Full details sent on booking confirmation.

About Peter & Seb

Hello, we are Peter and Seb. We live at Number34 with our three adorable cats: Cilla, Jackie and Joan (which don't go in guest rooms due to allergic guests) We are an English-French couple and have lived in Brighton for more than 18 years. We love the diversity of Brighton and are very proud to call it home. We are frequent travelers and take great culinary inspiration from our regular trips abroad. We are both trained chefs and love to cook so dinner parties at Number34 are second-to-none. Guests give us great feedback on our entertaining and we always try to source local produce, wherever possible. We are pescatarians and have a deep love of animals and nature so you won't find any meat on our menus...! For breakfast we use an orange press for fresh juice, single batch whole bean coffee, freshly ground in our vintage grinder, plus other home made goods like Seb's amazing jams. We are trained in a variety of massage techniques and offer a range of treatments to our guests. We offer a tranquil environment to unwind and relax should you wish to indulge in a treatment.

In designing our home we have tried to consider the environment and many pieces of furniture and are vintage and 'up cycled', we believe this creates a truly unique style and setting and we are very proud of our comfortable and stylish home. We are also very knowledgeable on the many local attractions, from bustling bars to scenic beauty spots, and we are more than happy to share with you our insider info on the city. We do hope you come and visit us; we're very confident you'll love the time you spend with us here at Number34 or one of our other offerings.
