This 18th century railway cottage is thoroughly delightful, described often as a ’Tardis’, as it is deceptively roomy inside.
Built all on one level, this pretty holiday property is nestled in beautiful surroundings in the small hamlet of Redesmouth; 2 miles from Bellingham, there are lovely walks in all directions from the front door passing along the river Rede. However far you like to go there will be walks to suit you, and the bluebells are a must see in the spring!
Redesmouth has two double bedrooms, with beautiful crisp white linen. The master bedroom has a four poster bed and a dressing table. The lounge is comfortably furnished, with TV, DVD player and a wood-burning stove to make for cosy evenings.
There are lovely views over the valley. Cows and sheep (lambs in the spring) can be seen from the window, grazing in the front field.
The very spacious kitchen diner has lovely views out on to the garden, where you can watch the many varieties of birds who visit the cottage. This year has seen a family of woodpeckers, as well as the usual nuthatches, robins, finches and pheasants - not to mention red squirrels and badgers on occasion. Why not step out from the kitchen and eat ‘al fresco’ out on the lovely secluded decked area.
The gardens, on three sides of the cottage, are enclosed, secluded and well maintained with a raised decked area and pagoda that becomes magical of an evening when the lights twinkle overhead! There is nowhere better to sip on a glass of wine and recover from a busy day’s exploring of wonderful Northumberland and all it has to offer.
There is ample parking in front of the cottage accessed via a private lane .
