About the property

Stunning, tasteful, Beach House close to all ameneties tucked off Harbour road.

Tastefully decorated, this tranquil beach house sleeps 3, with one double bedroom and one single. The house has its own dedicated parking bay at the back of the house.

The well equipped kitchen diner is on the ground floor with a downstairs cloakroom toilet, washer dryer, and microwave. The gravelled patio area is to the font with a bench and table. On the first floor the lounge has a large John Lewis squashy sofa where you can recline feeling the sea air wafting through the balcony doors... here you can enjoy pre dinner drinks, and watch the sun go down.

The bathroom is on the 1st floor with mira shower, enabling you to have hot water on demand, a bath, and 2nd toilet.

The house is full of the owners own art work, and subtle seaside twists in the decor and furniture make you feel at home. The bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, the waves rolling in from the sea will help you drift to sleep.

Seaton is snuggled between Lyme Regis and Beer, in a protective cove. Supermarkets, paper shop bakeries and a large selection of tea and coffee shops are on your doorstep. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. Axminster station is a 12 minute taxi ride, (Waterloo London to Exeter line) and there are regular bus services to Exeter, Lyme Regis and Beer. There is one allocated parking space directly at the back of the house. This is a great place to explore the Jurassic coast line and unwind !

About LJ Crockett

The owner is a nurse midwife by background, and a local amateur artist. She has been traveling to the Jurassic coastline since childhood.

LJ Crockett purchased this house in 2014

Why LJ Crockett chose Seaton

This area is so peaceful , I also love Lyme Regis but this has more of a community feel all year round. The pub culture here for live bands is strong something for every taste, The new Jurassic centre opened last year and its interactive thoughtful exhibits are a must for young children. Seaton also has some great new up and coming cafes which are transforming the area.. The Hideaway café never disappoints .. and is located on the beachfront with trestle tables outside and potted geraniums serving rhubarb crush and amazing home made food for tea lunch and last year dinner with a with great service !!... its almost like being in the med !

What makes this house unique

So close to the sea, I often take my coffee and toast there and watch the sun rise.. the vista to beer head is breath-taking ,

the beach is much quieter than Lyme Regis.

It uniquely placed to explore bother the Dorset and Devon side of the coast line ... Close to the railway station travellers in London wanting to escape can be in the beach house just a short bus or taxi ride away..

Not dog friendly at all

  • 1 of 5

The house was very nicely presented and conveniently located however the description is inaccurate as there is NO garden. Just a very small peddled patch on the communal driveway/carpark and very close to the main road. I certainly could not let my 2 small dogs outside for toilet time as they would have been run over. To cope with that I laid out puppy pads in the living room. There was a slight smell after we cleared them up as the room is poorly ventilated but they certainly did no go "all over the carpet" as claimed. I battled to get the deposit refunded and after finally agreeing to repay most of it, the owner just ignored my communications so I am still waiting. Very disappointing

We stayed in this lovely costal holiday home for a long weekend. Everything was as we expected and the owner made us feel very welcome with a lovely card and biscuits! Great location right in the middle of seaton, just minutes from the beach.

Pretty and quaint

  • 3 of 5

It was very artistically decorated however for us the number of stairs became a problem. Maybe the advert should say that it is over three levels. My husband being 6'3" has come home with a few scars on his head as the light fitting in the dining area and the lounge were too low and he kept smacking into them. We are not used to seagulls so being kept up most of the night with them squawking left us exhausted but that is no fault of the owner. It might be better to tell people to bring their own towels as we had to go out and buy some as soon as we arrived. It did say that linen and bathmats were provided but one glosses over that. However, it was very clean and we felt very welcome with a packet of biscuits waiting for us. I would recommend it to others. The owner is very friendly and accommodating.

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful area

  • 4 of 5

Had a short break here and would love to have stayed longer. Cosy and comfortable the Beach house has everything we needed. We did some lovely walks and cycle rides and it was the ideal place to return to at the end of a tiring day. Having all the amenities close by was an added bonus. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area.

Seaton beach amazing views to Beer Head
Car: recommended

This lovely mews house is very central with private designated parking and a supermarket and paper shop less than 2 mins walk away.

It lies one road back from the sea

and close to the best restaurants in town.

The town offers a great culinary selection from the amazing hideaway cafe with local art work near the beach huts, to a great breakfast at Coast, on the prom

Public transport to Lyme Regis is recommended and your car will be safe in an allocated space behind the house. The Canteen , run and owned by Hugh Fearney Whittingstall is 7 miles away in Axminster , and the famous HIX oyster restaurant (posh fish and chips) sits above the majestic Lyme bay..

Dogs are allowed on the beach in Seaton all year round in designated stretches.

Seaton does not get over crowded , it is the most tranquil beach experience I believe along the Jurassic coast with amazing views into lyme bay snuggled between lyme regis and Beer
