About the property

Contemporary and quirky 3 bedroom beach cabin overlooking Heacham Creek

River behind, sea to the front and adjoining a nature paradise. Neptune is superbly located for all nature and seaside pursuits.

Neptune has been extensively refurbished during 2012 and 2015 to create an outstanding beach cabin of excellent quality.

The three bedrooms are contained within the old boat part of the building, with the open plan kitchen/dining/living area, bathroom, cloakroom and hallway housed within a later extension.

Neptune enjoys a lovely position set back from the beach by about 40 paces. The raised terrace at the rear of the property directly overlooks the Creek and enjoys fabulous sunshine in a wonderfully tranquil setting. A perfect place for relaxing, dining and taking drinks.

This is a perfect family retreat in a great beach location, yet close to a great number of amenities, making it ideal for all types of holiday makers.

About David Johnson

We are a young family and purchased the The Old Barn, Holme, in 2006. We carried out a completed refurbishment and modernisation and continue to make little changes here and there every year. We live near Stamford and travel regularly to The Old Barn to escape work and immerse ourselves in the sheer beauty of all that the North Norfolk coast has to offer.

In 2007 we also bought two properties next to the beach at South Beach, Heacham. We thought these would be perfect for our children to grow up around and play by the beach in the traditional way.

Neptune is a perfect base from which to enjoy beach activities. A fabulous vantage point to watch the sun rise over the grazing fields and Snettisham woods, through to setting over the sand dunes. Surrounded by nature and an amazingly tranquil location.

Sitting out on the terrace overlooking the river is a stunning place to relax and pass time. The fabulous interior is a constant reminder that you are on holiday and away from home.

Outside: Lawned and fenced garden to the rear backing onto the river, with views over fields to the woods beyond. Front garden has open boundaries and offers ample parking. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning and laundry takes place between each occupancy. Fridays are changeover days.

A lovely property in a wonderful location.

We had a wonderful weekend in this beautifully decorated property. We thoroughly enjoyed watching all the wildlife on the river as well as the sunsets on the beach. The owner is very helpful and we would absolutely recommend the area for the peacefulness and the character. We would definitely hope to go back.

Clean, warm, everything works.

Great place: very clean, remarkably well insulated & draft proofed. I would go again no problem. The only issue we had was that none of the chairs in the main living area were comfortable to sit in for long. We had a 4 year old who was only happy after we bought a plug in night light, (though he loved sleeping in the top bunk).

It is worth taking binoculars, sitting on the bed in the back room and surveying the rough pasture across the river - there is a lot of wildlife out there quietly going about it's business - hares, pheasants, partridges & various waders as well the obvious jackdaws & pigeons.

Note - I got instructions to go to "14B", but the chalet is in fact only marked as "Neptune" (admittedly it sits between 13 and 15, but that is not obvious from the road on a first visit).

An Excellent Stay

The property is just great, all on one level which is brilliant when you have young kids (no near vertical stairs, as we have experienced in some holiday cottages!). The inside of the property is kitted to a high level all the bedrooms are very comfortable and the kids loved the TV's in each of them. The beach is literally a 5 min walk, there are plenty of shops and amenities in Heacham and Hunstanton. We were made to feel very welcome with some milk and cake waiting for us on our arrival. Overall it was perfect would highly recommend this property.

Neptune - What a great place to stay!

The property more than lived up to our wishes! Not only was it an ideal spot (for us) between sand dunes in front of us and the Heacham Creek behind. The cabin was spotless and had been most thoughtfully & thoroughly equipped and the fact that a BBQ was supplied was great. Everyone in our party loved the balcony, and watching the wildlife. The owner was very obliging - nothing was too much trouble. Friends of ours booked into the next cabin along (owned by the same person) so we had a really good family time together. I would recommend either of these cabins - Neptune or Beachside - to anyone wanting a quieter type of break although Hunstanton is only 10 mins drive away and there are plenty of things in the area to occupy & amuse anybody.

Fabulous beach holiday in February!

Neptune for us was a very welcomed pleasant surprise!

Its clean and tasteful on the outside and the same, only a few fold over on the inside. This accommodation accompanied by the fact that its a few steps from a beautiful beach sets you up for a great break. The interior design is aesthetically pleasing through its high quality of materials and finish. comfortable kitchen, modern bathroom and 'additional' wc. beds are comfortable too with a lovely panoramic view 'on waking' of the sunrise over a little river and fields to the rear, from one of the double bedrooms.

This place is well insulated and keeps very cosy.

We had a wonderful time here, with beach walks/runs, family meals and warming family board games in the evening.

We don't generally return to the same place twice, however Neptune has helped us discover a lovely British beach only an hour or so from where we live.

Thank you David for sharing Neptune with us and for a pleasant booking experience.
