The Italian hideaway is exactly that - a quiet peaceful cottage nestled in the rolling hills near to the beautiful medieval village of Arsita. If you are looking for somewhere to escape to, to enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful Italian countryside then this is the place for you! You can relax on the large terrace with a glass of wine and enjoy the stunning views of the hills, mountains, forests and river in the valley below, listening to nothing but the birds and crickets.
The cottage sits in 5 acres of land and is surrounded by olive, fruit and nut trees, it has been beautifully renovated and is fully equipped with everything you will need to enjoy your holiday and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The owners Pete and Clair live on site so are on hand to welcome you when you arrive.
If you enjoy walking, cycling, drawing, photography or birdwatching, this is all available from the cottage or if you want to venture a little further then the mountains of the Abruzzo national park and Gran Sasso mountain range are only a 30 minute drive away, with their many trails and walking paths. The tranquil Adriatic sea is only 40 minutes away and can be reached at the beautiful coastal towns of either Pineto, Monte Silvano or Pescara with their beautiful, long sandy beaches and clear blue water, perfect for swimming, sunbathing or just more relaxing!
The ancient town of Castelli is a short drive away, where you can browse quaint little shops for their world famous, beautifully hand crafted and painted ceramics.
The larger cultural cities of Teramo, Penne and Pescara are all within easy reach and are ideal if you are looking for some retail therapy, or for the ultimate cultural and historical experience then Rome is only a 2 hour drive away on the autostrada where you can visit the Vatican City, the Trevi fountain, the Colosseum, or the Pantheon to name just a few! If you are daunted by the prospect of driving into Rome then there is a local bus service that takes you direct into the heart of Rome and the owners are more than happy to drop you off and collect you from the bus stop which is only a short drive away from the cottage.
