Home from Home with views!

  • 5 of 5

This property certainly lived up to its description. Within a very short time we felt comfortably at home. Everything we needed was there and more. Practical as well as comfortable and private with only the sheep to see in! Close to Keswick we could not fault it. Thank you so much for all the welcoming touches you supplied. Hope to be able to return in the future.

Beautiful barn tastefully decorated in lovely village but barn was dirty

  • 2 of 5

It was very dusty floors were dirty crumbs and jam on chopping board from previous occupants and beds had not been changed all bedding was dirty with long dark hairs on and stained sheets in main bedroom and one single bed I can understand dog hairs get everywhere but the bedding had definitely not been changed even by the smell which really upset me it took me a few hrs to clean before I could settle for the 2 nights

Owner's Response: Hi Sam, thank you for writing your review of Hilltop Barn. As I said in my phone call to you, we are very sorry that you found the cottage to be not as clean as our previous guests, this is our first review under 4 stars in nearly 2 years on owners direct and we are always striving for perfection. If we could kindly ask any guests who have issues with the cottage to contact us upon arrival and we will strive to rectify the problems there and then (depending on the issue a photo would help). We are obviously in an awkward position when a visitor tells us after the event that there was a problem and that they sorted it themselves and our normally excellent cleaners also insist that their work was done. We do hope that your experience has not put you off revisiting Hilltop and we look forward to you staying again. Regards Morag
