A lovely property in a quiet location with everything you need for a great holiday.

The Barn was small but perfectly formed and tastefully decorated and the kitchens cupboards were well stocked with everything you need. The garden is pleasant and secure with a lovely seating area to enjoy an evening drink in the setting sun. The property is in a quiet rural community but everything you need is within a short drive away including a Starbucks which scored bonus points for me! It was great to be able to take our 2 springer spaniels and they enjoyed a couple of the complimentary biscuits, whilst I enjoyed the bubbly and chocolates. We would definately return and reccommend to others.

Great place, well equipped kitchen. Warm and cosy after a wet and windy walk around Buttermere!

Great to be able to bring the dog.

Beautiful cottage in cockermouth

  • 5 of 5

We only stayed for few nights but wished it could have been more. The cottage was beautiful, clean, everything you needed was there. Even wine & chocs as welcoming presents, and even the dog got treats, very well done . Plenty room for 6 people, and small garden over looking fields of sheep, pity weather was not too good but still enjoyable, would recommend to family & friends.

Heaven is a place on earth!!! And it's this place, for sure...

  • 5 of 5

We were so lucky with the weather and felt utterly at home at your gorgeous Hilltop Barn. I've been telling EVERYONE about how unbelievably well presented and homely our stay was. We loved spending time in the conservatory as it was so relaxing. It was nice to have a week away from a very hectic life. This is the perfect 'getting away from it all' destination - a great place to go and refresh and recharge your batteries. We ate at The Royal Yew with our doggy and it was gorgeous food - though we couldn't move after we'd finished!! We also loved Whinlatter Forest (as did my doggy, Tupper), Maryport and Whitehaven. We personally think that Cockermouth is one of the nicest towns ever - and being an English teacher I did geek out a little over the fact that Wordsworth was born there #geekoftheweek. Also if you need to warm up in Cockermouth - head to 'The Moon and Sixpence' where they have the BEST hot chocolate you will ever taste ... We loved the sheep being so near to the garden, we loved EVERYTHING - it felt like heaven being so free in the gorgeous atmosphere of The Lakes. This place is proof that heaven is a place on earth. We hope to be back the same time next year.
