Overview

About the property

Cottage in Grewelthorpe, near Masham on edge of Yorkshire Dales, Yorkshire, England - Peaceful Location, short walk to Hackfall Woods Close to Ripon

Our lovely self catering cottage has been converted from period stables and is situated on the outskirts of Grewelthorpe which is in the Nidderdale “area of outstanding natural beauty”. With easy access to the many attractions that the area offers, we think this is the perfect place for a relaxing break. We have worked hard to make our cottage a super comfortable home from home, with high quality furnishings and attractive textiles to compliment the building. For heating and hot water we have installed a biomass boiler that ensures you can be toasty warm in the cold months with under floor heating whilst still being eco friendly. The water supply comes from our own well and doesn't contain any extra chemicals.

I’m so glad we found this on Home way. We explored parts of the North we did know about. Masham Bedale Grewlrhorpe Richmond and it’s a great location for visiting York Harrogate and Northallerton.

Immaculately clean and very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Starting with the warm welcome from Geoff the owner on arrival and the gorgeous Victoria sponge cooked by his wife Val waiting in the kitchen, the whole tone was set for our stay. There were fresh flowers on the table, wine and milk in the fridge and new laid eggs on the side. The accommodation is immaculately clean and comfortable. We lit the fire each evening - it snowed on the first day - and all the logs were supplied. The beds were comfortable. The decor clean and fresh. Everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage.

We had a great experience

  • 5 of 5

We found everything at 'The Stables' to be excellent.

The quality of the accommodation, the attention to detail with the necessities, dish washer tablets, detergent, clothes washing tablets, salt and pepper, kitchen foil, homebaked cake, fresh eggs, milk and a bottle of prosecco in the fridge were very thoughtful. We have stayed places where we needed to go out to buy even loo roll!

Val and Geoff were friendly but not 'in our face'.

The kitchen had all we needed for preparing our meals and we were able to sit outdoors on one day!

There was plenty of space for 4 adults. We were impressed with 3 televisions sets.

Fortunately we didn't need to light the fire as the heating kept the house comfortable.

All in all, we loved 'The Stables '.

home from home in a stunning setting

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely stay at "THE STABLES ", after a long journey we were greeted by the owner. Once inside we found a homemade cake along with a bottle of bubbly.

The Stables is a stunning property with everything you could need for your stay, set in quiet surroundings, with sheep, cows and sounds of the birds singing, who could ask for a more relaxing location to unwind.

With lots of places to visit , from abbey and castle ruins , historic York, and theme parks for the children, and for the more energetic lots of walks through the Yorkshire moors, THE STABLES was set in a great location to do all of these.

I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT A WEEK WAS DEFINATELY NOT LONG ENOUGH!

We will be back for definite.

An exceptionally well presented, comfortable and luxurious holiday home!

  • 5 of 5

This property really has the wow factor! It was an absolute treat to stay here and enjoy all the comforts and luxuries provided! It was spotless and everything was of the highest quality. Super comfortable beds, well equipped fantastic kitchen, stunning bathrooms, beautiful living room, and all the extra touches were lovely (ie. Toiletries, fluffy white towels, lots of books, games and leaflets, etc). The cottage is very light and spacious! We could not fault anything! Lovely outdoor space, and peace and quiet as the property is set well away from the road (surrounded by lovely countryside and sheep)! A friendly welcome from the owner, and we were treated to fresh eggs, a homemade victoria sponge cake, and a bottle of prosecco in the fridge! We enjoyed every single minute of our stay at this exceptional cottage! We would not hesitate to stay here again! First class!
