About Lee Powell
Having holidayed in the Lakes for many years we made the decision to move to Windermere in 2015. After 24 years living in London we’ve returned home to the North West to enjoy the walks, the food, the people and yes the weather too!
Lee Powell purchased this Barn in 2015
What makes this Barn unique
The barn really is a home away from home and a lovely place to relax and unwind together in beautiful surroundings. Its unusual to find such a peaceful and secluded location so close to the amenities of Bowness & Windermere and good road connections. The location makes it a great base to explore everything the Lakes have to offer, allowing you to do as little or as much as you like. Visit our website to see what the area has to offer and to find out more about the barn. Whatever you decide to do, at Outrun Nook you'll find the pace a little more relaxed. Sit back, catch up and enjoy
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We have just enjoyed our first of hopefully many visits to The Lakes and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay than Outrun Nook. Beautiful Barn conversion deceptively bigger on the inside with its 3 floors. Well equipped and perfectly placed for touring The Lakes. Excellent local walks outstanding scenery and we were fortunate enough to have the hot weather. Especially enjoyed the lambs and Alpacas.
So pleased you enjoyed the Lakes, and your stay in the barn, the walks, the scenery and the alpacas and lambs. It sounds like you had a great time!
Fantastic location and lovely accommodation. It usually takes us a week to wind down and relax from our busy lives but we felt a weight lift off the moment we arrived !
Thats wonderful! It is a fantastic place to escape to. Hope to see you back soon
Perfect place to get snowed in
Me and my parents loved our stay! The barn is perfect for a lovely relaxed holiday. It is clean, well laid out, warm and cosy. We enjoyed making use of the log fire in the evenings.
Unfortunately we got snowed in during the week so we didn’t get to do as much sightseeing as we would have liked but the owner was absolutely fantastic, offering us assistance if we needed food shopping.
We can’t fault it!
Hi Sophie, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and the barn. I hadn't realised we were due to get so much snow, normally we park cars at the bottom of the lane when a lot of snow is forecast and do a drop off and collection trip for you in the trusty Volvo! Hope to see you back again and you can do little more exploring!
The best a nicest place we have ever stayed, not one of us wanted to leave.
We had a fabulous time over New Year staying at the barn, the owner left so many thoughtful little touches...Not one of us wanted to leave, we can highly recommend and we will be returning..😁😁💕
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and loved the barn, please come back soon, though New Year is already booked!
Exactly what we were looking for
We have just returned from a really great stay here ( two adults and two teenage girls). We were looking for somewhere to celebrate my 50th Birthday and Outrun Nook Barn proved to be exactly what we were looking for. For us it was the perfect place to chill out for a few days between Christmas and New Year. The barn is set in beautiful countryside and is really peaceful. We drove into Bowness a couple of times. Mooched around town and took a ferry trip on Windermere, stopping off briefly at Brokehole. A 30 min walk from the barn, along a small part of the Dales Way, brought us to the lovely Boar’s Head pub for a very tasty lunch. The barn itself is as lovely as it looks in the photos. We really appreciated the extra touches, which included a welcome pack of goodies, beautiful Christmas decorations throughout, really lovely scented hand soap and lotion, cosy throws, books and dvds galore.....
The girls enjoyed having their own space in the snug with attached bedroom and their own bathroom, fridge, kettle and tv. We would highly recommend a stay here. We felt very much at home and would like the thank the family for providing such a great place to stay and for the very simple travel and arrival instructions provided. It’s a definite 5 stars from us all.
Lovely to hear you found the perfect stay to celebrate your birthday. It is the perfect place to get away for a bit of a relaxing time. It sounds like you made the most of your stay just a shame there wasn't any snow this Christmas its really beautiful then.
Please come back and visit soon
