House in Gibbs, St Peter, Barbados, Caribbean - 10min walk to beach And 10 Mins Drive To Golf
The property consists of 3 air-conditioned double bedrooms upstairs and a smaller twin room downstairs. The en suite to the master bedroom is old fashioned but clean and functional. The family bathroom with bathtub has been newly tiled and updated.
There is a huge balcony upstairs that overlooks the tropical gardens with a comfy sofa and football table. There is a smaller private balcony for the master bedroom. The traditional kitchen is separated from the living area by the kitchen counter with bar stools. The kitchen is the original kitchen so is not modern but is clean and functional.
3 sets of double patio doors lead out to the garden and private swimming pool which is surrounded by a patio (partially covered) with outdoor seating and gas BBQ. There are also lovely places to sit along the side of the house overlooking the garden. The gardens contain a variety of fruit trees and a lime tree for your mojotos and rum punches. The property is completed enclosed with stone walls and a wooden sliding gate so children can play safely.
There is an outside loo and shower next to the pool. 5 mins walk is one of the best beaches in Barbados, Gibbs Beach and a little further is Mullins Beach with beach bar and activities for children. Just 10 minutes away are the beautiful golf courses located at the Apes Hill Club and Royal Westmoreland resort.
Paul lives on site in an attached unit with separate entrance and will tend to the pool and garden but otherwise leave you alone. Cleaning/housekeeping is not included during your stay but can be arranged.
This is a comfortable family home - it is not luxurious and high end like some of the properties you will find in the area but the price reflects this and you will have a wonderful and affordable stay here.

Why Laura Keene chose Gibbes
It's just a 5 min stroll to Gibbs Beach, has a lovely peaceful garden and lovely open plan living area. The bus stop is also just at the end of the road for popping to Holetown or Speightstown if you don't want to rent a car. Mullins Beach Bar has live music some nights and is a great spot to sit and look at the sea with a drink.

A great base in a peaceful setting
Our party of eight family members had a very pleasant ten-day break at the villa in late March. We found it comfortable, spacious and peaceful and the warm pool got a lot of use! Paul was always helpful when we needed any local information.
It is best to get an officially-registered taxi at the airport; fares are fixed for the outward journey ($64 BAD to the villa, or double that for a minibus in our case) but you may need to haggle to get the same deal when returning. Otherwise, getting around Barbados is easy - the frequent buses (especially the yellow ones) provide easy, cheap and often colourful access to most parts.
There are some attractive beaches nearby, and further afield. But be aware of the sharp stones and coral underfoot and the strong undertow, both of which can mar even paddling in shallow water.
The main downside to Barbados is that almost everything apart from bus rides (and rum!) is expensive - particularly food (even the fruit and veg that one would expect to be locally-grown), which is not always of good quality. Some careful selection is needed when self-catering. Speightstown has a couple of reasonable supermarkets and many roadside vendors for fruit and veg, most of whom will try to over-charge tourists. Local fish is delicious, but again usually offered at inflated prices.
A wonderful villa located in beautiful surroundings!
We had a wonderful stay at 11 Gibbs Glade! The villa is just as beautiful and spacious as on the photos. Everything is very well taken care of and it´s really nice to have the garden, the pool and only 5 minutes to the beach.
I warmly recommend it and I hope we´ll soon be back!
Thank you so much! We are so glad you had a lovely relaxing holiday and would love to see you again.
Home away from home
I stayed at Laura's place with some friends as we were all attending a wedding. We had an amazing trip - it was hard to leave! Paul made us feel right at home by giving us tips about where to visit on the island, where to eat, and how to use the buses. The pool was lovely and the close proximity to the beach was ideal for our group. This place might not have all the bells and whistles of some of the other villas advertised in the area, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a great stay!
Thank you so much! We are glad you had a lovely time and hope you will come back again soon.
Large, spacious lovely home from home.
Lovely house with everything you need away from home, a stones throw away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Our hosts Paul and Laura were so friendly and helpful they were the icing on the cake if a most beautiful and relaxing holiday amongst some of the friendliest people in the world.
Looking forward to going back with the family.
Amazing villa, amazing holiday - highly recommend!
I would highly recommend this villa. Located in Gibbes Bay on the West Coast with a choice of 2 amazing beaches (Gibbes & Mullins) within walking distance, there's only positive things to say.
The villa itself is large, bright and airy so plenty of room to really relax. It has a huge BBQ and all the facilities you need, so if you choose days to stay home you have everything there - not to mention a large tranquil garden and generous pool...air con (in the bedrooms) & wifi too!
Paul (Fox) is at hand to help if you need, he made sure we had everything for our arrival (beer in the fridge) and gave us lots of local information, knowledge and recommendations.
Gibbes is a lovely relaxed place with easy transport to 2 closest towns, we didn't really venture further than that as we had it all there - the best holiday, we'll DEFINITELY be back!
Couldn't ask for a better holiday
We had a brilliant stay her and would recommend to anyone! Paul (fox) could not have done any more for us and was very welcoming and helpful from start to end!
The location as great with just a five minute walk to Gibbs beach and no longer to Mullins beach which were both fantastic! White sand and clear water! What more could we ask for!
There were a few brilliant activities on Mullins beach, I would recommend the fly board for sure!!
All in all a really good holiday and would be sure to return!
