About Jerry O'Mara

I'm a Chartered Accountant, based in Ballina, Co Mayo, Ireland.

I first visited Mijas Pueblo in 2000, and saw the site where the Sierramar apartment block now sits. needless to say I fell in love with the place.

I'm into hill-walking and Mijas Pueblo is the perfect place to partake in that activity, especially in the off - season when the weather is cooler, walking canes are provided in the apartment.

The apartment is 2 minutes walk from the old square beside it you have the food market, church, open-air auditorium, bull-ring, town park and my favourite "Blue Cafe" where the tosdados are to die for:)

Nice apartment with fantastic view

Had a very pleasant 9 days at Jerry's apartment. The ownet is very helpful and answers any queries very quickly. We had a slight problem on the first day and this was sorted out within an hour. The flat has all amenities and is nicely furnished. The view from the balcony is breathtaking both day and night.

Thank you for letting us stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our holidays.

Just a fantastic view.

A lovely place to be. Great apartment, you could spend all day on the balcony. My only annoyance is the few people that will go down to the pool early morning put towels on beds they have put out and then come down at 5pm for an hour and then put them back.

From booking with Jerry to arriving and staying at the property, our experience with it all we could not give any less than 5 stars.

Jerry replied to all our emails within hours and provided images about where to pick up the keys for the apartment and the street it was located on.

Mijas is a wonderful mountain village, so many great restaurants, bars and if you want a little trashy nightlife you can head into Fuengirola on an extremely reasonable priced bus or taxis which we're always available in the main square.

The apartment itself is superb, it has everything you'd need to enjoy your holiday. We had some awful weather during the first 2 days of our trip so the sky tv, netflix and superb internet connection was most welcome. There was plenty of dried goods, condiments which other guests had left for our usage in the apartment. Beach and bath towels galore and comfy beds. The pool although a little on the small side was great for a dip and the views from the apartment and the pool terrace are absolutely superb!

We can't thank Jerry enough for a great stay. We will be back soon.

Great Apartment

Had a lovely stay in beautiful Mijas village. From the complex it is a five minute stroll up into the beautiful town. Jerry's apartment was very clean and comfortable with all the necessary kitchen appliances, linen towels etc. to make it a great feel. Jerry provided great service answering our questions same day. There are plenty of excellent bars/restaurants and walks! We hired a car and spent time in Malaga and Ronda which were fantastic. The locals in the village are lovely people always happy to greet you.

A great spot with fantastic views

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Mijas Pueblo. The apartment is ideally positioned, just off the tourist track but a very short and pleasant walk into to the village centre where there are many great restaurants and bars to choose from. The apartment is very well equipped and well maintained and it has to be said the view from the balcony down to the coast is to die for.

I would recommend a car to get out and about if you want to visit the wider area. Despite being on a fairly narrow road parking is not an issue as you have a designated parking space in the private car park under the apartment block.

The pool area is very clean and easy to access, no fighting for sun beds here!

The owner, Jerry, is reliable and very easy going.He responds quickly to any questions you may have which makes the booking and pick up process for keys etc. hassle free.

As a regular visitor to Spain and having stayed in many owner direct rented Apartments / Villas I would have no hesitation in recommending Mijas and this apartment.

Lovely quite apartment

We booked our stay here as we had been to Mijas Pueblo the year before and it is beautiful town. The apartment is ideally located 5 minutes walk from the town square. It has a communal pool and garage parking and so was just what we wanted

The owner Jerry was very easy to deal with throughout the booking process. The apartment was very clean, tidy and modern. the pool was great and not all busy and such a relief to not have to worry about getting a sunbed. the owner employs a cleaning lady who lives close by and so is on hand to help. Again she was very polite and friendly and cleaned the apartment midway through our stay.

The whole holiday was extremely enjoyable and the apartment lived up to the advertisement. Its always a worry booking something on the internet and it not being as you expected but we had no worries with this one and would more than happily stay there again and thoroughly recommend it as a great place to stay if you want to see the Mijas area.

Mijas Pueblo is great for restaurants and gift shops. There is also a good tourist information centre and a great regular bus service from the centre into Fuengirola or Benalmadena and other locations. The trip to Fuengirola took 25 minutes at the most and cost 1 euro and fifty cents. In addition there is a local taxi rank and the drivers were very friendly. We decided to go to the water park with our kids and so the driver stopped on the way at his taxi HQ and picked us up some vouchers to get us in cheaper, which was amazing.

Finally i think we have said it all but once again the apartment was clean, modern and all we could have wanted. it was large, the beds comfortable. it had air conditioning and the kitchen was well supplied with utensils to cook meals.

one last point has to be the amazing sea view. We spent some enjoyable evenings playing cards with our kids on the balcony with the lights of Fuengirola and the coast line as the back drop.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your kind comments. I agree, Mijas Pueblo is a very special place, scenic and quiet and I absolutely love going there myself to chill out. I believe that the mountain walks are one of the best kept secrets of Mijas Pueblo and the surrounding area. Perhaps they are not for the faint-hearted and you need to be reasonably fit for the ascent but the scenery is fabulous and there is good exercise value. I was afraid of heights and never thought I'd be able to climb even up to the little chapel but I've conquered that fear and have gone to one of the peaks a number of times on my own. I have left my walking sticks in the apartment for anybody who wishes to partake. Regards, Jerry

Excellent Hill Walking trails on the mountain at the back of the apartment


10 km to beach in Fuengirola, about 15 minutes by car. There is a long promenade there which extends east almost 2km from Fuengirola Castle to the fishing port and resumes again beyond that point.


Travel time to Malaga Airport by car, is 25 to 30 mins. There are half hourly trains during the day from the airport to Furngirola which costs €2.10 and the half hourly bus to Mijas costs €1.15. The bus stop in Mijas is just over a kilometre from the apartment, so allow 15 minutes. Allow at least one and a half hours to get to the airport by bus/train. Taxis are available at the bus-stop in Mijas.

The cleaners name is Tess Crane, who is English and lives up the street and her contact details are:-

The fob for the carpark is in the apartment on underneath the mirror directly in front of you as you enter the apartment.
If you wish to hire a car, park on the street when you arrive at the apartment and get the carpark fob inside. It is space no 10 in the upper car park.
