Traditional stone cottage recently renovated to a high specification with all modern conveniences. The cottage has gas central heating and underfloor heating for extra cosiness. Ample on-street parking is available. Located in the quaint Cartmel village it is ideally situated for easy access to Cartmel Racecourse, Cartmel Medieval Priory, L'Enclume Michelin Star Restaurant and the beautiful Cartmel Valley walks. Only 10 minutes drive to the foot of Lake Windermere and Newby Bridge the gateway to the mountains and lakes.

Pat Bernard has lived and worked in the Lake District for many years and has previously run a popular B&B in Grange over Sands. Pat lives 5 mins away from the cottage and is on hand if needed to help sort out any problems guests may have during their stay.

Notes on accommodation: The cottage is refurbished to a high specification and has ample on-street parking. The cottage has unlimited Wifi, gas central heating, underfloor heating on the ground floor and gas hot water system. Outside: There is no outside seating area at the cottage. It is located next to the Pig & Whistle pub which has a large garden and is adjacent to cartmel green with easy access to open spaces. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen are included. Bedding is not supplied for the sofa bed in the living room. Other: The cottage has underfloor heating in all downstairs areas plus radiator gas central heating, gas coal effect stove and gas hot water system.

Lovely

Really enjoyed our stay here! Would definitely come back again! Only one very minor problem, the tv downstairs is broken so can’t be used! Other than that all was perfect!

Great location, lovely little house.

We had a lovely stay in Cartmel; the house is small, but perfect for a couple, and we also had our two labradors with us who were more than happy with the space down stairs. The facilities are great and location next to the pub very handy. The only downside is no outside space, but that is purely because we have dogs; however there is a village green 20 seconds walk which is useful. We would definitely come again and the owner was really helpful.

Good quality, clean accommodation

Small cottage but fine for two people. Everything you may need is provided and everywhere was very clean. Upstairs is surprisingly spacious, the bathroom gorgeous and the bed comfy. The stairs are only narrow and open on one side so only suitable for adults. Only downside is there being no outside space and nowhere close by to let our dog run around in the morning, this was made clear in the description though and didn't spoil our weekend.

Well provisioned, clean and tidy and in a great location.

This is a great wee cottage in the middle of Cartmel. It adjoins a pub but we heard very little noise and felt it was handy for a drink and meal. There are other pubs in Ealing distance as is everything else on the village. Shops, cafés, a local brewery, racecourse and lots of great walks if you're the active type. It's also a great base for getting out to the lakes. Ullswater is particularly good and we recommend the Steamer cruise. Parking is good at the cottage. We were able to park right at the door for the 5 nights we stayed there.

Cosy central cottage in Cartmel

Easy to find, great location, very small and compact. Great for 2 people! Very clean, nice fixtures & fittings. TV, CD player, selection of DVDs. Lovely gas fire, which along with central heating keeps the cottage very warm! Local shop across the road in case you forget anything. Good pub next door. Despite that it's very quiet, the thick stone walls means you never hear your neighbours! As we were staying over Christmas, Pat had decorated the cottage for us, which was lovely! Cartmel is a lovely place to stay with great pubs and restaurants, no need to cook at home! Would definitely stay here again!

Situated in the beautiful medieval village of Cartmel famous for its Priory, L'Enclume Michelin star rated restaurant and of course Cartmel Races. The village has 4 excellent pubs all serving delicous food and most welcoming children and dogs. Famous for Sticky Toffee Pudding, Cartmel has some lovely specialist food and gift shops and cafes and is a treat to visit.

A deposit of £100 will be requested with final payment due 6 weeks before arrival.

Changeover Day:
Bookings are accepted from 3.30pm Friday to 10am Friday for 7 night starys
or Friday to Monday for weekend stays
and Monday to Friday for mid-week stays
During quiet times of year our changeover days can be flexible
We accept a minimum of 3 night stay

Notes on prices:
A 'full week' runs from Friday 4 p.m. to Friday 10 a.m.. Short breaks can run either from Friday 4 p.m. to Monday or Tuesday 10 a.m. or from Monday or Tuesday 4 p.m. to Friday 10 a.m. - minimum stay period is 3 nights. A stay of 3 nights costs 75% of the weekly rate; 4 day stays cost 80% of the weekly price. Well behaved dogs are welcome, at a charge of £25 each stay. Errors and omissions excepted

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
